Not sure but I got some of the snap rings off. One of them is insanely hard to get off right under the top bearing of the opposite side of the shaft. It happened somehow when we had the 3pt backhoe on. The ground was quite soft so the backhoe was bouncing a bit more than usual. I started removing the snap rings but i cant get the bearing off. Does it pry off? Checking on warranty and it showed not covered if something happens from using a 3pt backhoe. Weird bc mahindra sells them.

Wondering that myself, how the shaft failed running a backhoe.
Was this a 3 point hoe ??
Did it have a PTO pump ??
Yep to both questions. Was running fine but this time the ground was pretty wet. It was bouncing around. Still not sure how that could happen. Mahindra said not covered by warranty.

Parts #23, 22, 18, and both #13s are snap rings on the broken shaft. Remove them and the gears between in that order, replace in the reverse on the new part. Looks like if the outer seal came out first the outer #13 could too, and the shaft w/gear should
slide out of the plate. I doubt that any of the bearings are pressed on, but look for that.

Sometimes it's less hassle and quicker to just buy the part and DIY as the OP is demonstrating. Warrant work often means 'wait your turn', and usually after you wait to be approved.

I like a guy who isn't afraid to dive in the way I would, and for reasons I said above.

I'm so caught up on stuff I kinda wish I was there to help. :) t o g
Is there a trick to getting snap rings off? I've tried to get the one right under the bearing off and I can't grip it with needle nose. Also any tips to get bearings off? I don't have a hydraulic press but saw some videos about that. Im not to upset about not being able to use warranty. I'd rather fix it if I can myself.

More pics. Can't get bearing off top of pic #4. Also having trouble with snap rings right under bearing. IMG_20190309_215424.jpegIMG_20190309_215359.jpegIMG_20190309_215418.jpegIMG_20190309_215433.jpeg

I guessing when bouncing around, possibly something on the hoe was able to hit the PTO pump braking the shaft.
Likely why warranty will not cover it.

You need a puller to get the bearings of the shaft. They are designed to be a very tight fit so the bearing does not ever turn on the shaft.
In the factory, the bearing will be heated and then slid onto the shaft.
This is an example of a set of pullers for $20.

I don not think the snap ring has to come off to release the bearing

I think I would have popped that assembly off and taken it in to the dealer to let them rebuild it.
It may be to late after you start messing with it, they may not want to get involved half way through disassembly or re assembly
