if someone were to ask me what would be the one thing i learned while in the military and i could only give one answer it would be its better to have a little to much and never need it then to really need it and you aint got it!! i have a ford 4610 su its 53 pto hp i have a 7 ft hardee mower with 90 hp gear box and i use it to garden bushhog around 14 acres etc.. as long as you dont go to big a 40 to 50 hp tractor isnt going to be to much and you can use a 5 ft bush hog or if you want to shorten your mowing time a 53 hp tractor will handle a 7 ft lift type mower and an 8 and some 10 ft pull type mowers so i would get a full size tractor in the 50 hp range if you never need that much so what but if you do need it its there
