Alright I've done all the troubleshooting possible for my limited scope of diesel mechanics. What I have concluded is that I am getting diesel in my oil!! To me it sounds like a worse case scenario. I am currently trying to get a mechanic out to my farm for some professional advice (just a matter of getting a good mechanic). I have replaced the transfer pump which I have heard could leak into the oil, and its good. If anybody out there has had similar problems with their tractor and could help that would be greatly appreciated. By the way my tractor doesn't even have 3,000 hours on it, but did buy it used. Thanks for the
help.

Aloha,

Bradley Smith

I'm not exactly familiar with your tractor but most diesel injection pumps can leak fuel into the crankcase oil. If a seal in the high preasure side of the pump starts to leak internally it can push fuel out the nose where the drive gear is. Some injection pumps are also partially lubricated by engine oil and if the seal between the fuel portion and the oil lubricated part goes bad it can leak there also.

About the only other way fuel can get into the oil is past the piston rings. But if it's dumping enough fuel into the oil that you can notice it it's probably not that as you would notice a drop in performance and your crankcase would be preasureized.

Hello Brad…
Yes I remember having that same problem… Hard to get use to oil level increasing during use…?
I replaced the primary pump as well… still had the problem… The engine ran well or so I thought.
I removed the injector pump, took it and all the injectors to a diesel injector/pump shop, There the pump was found to be bad, had it and the injectors rebuilt (not cheep) but it cured the fuel in the oil problem… There also was a huge increase in power, and as you might guess a decrease in fuel consumption.
It was speculated that gasoline had been ran into the pump, that allowed the pump to operate without the lube properties of diesel, this wore the pump out to the point that it leaked internally… Good luck, but you may have the same problem, not necessarily from gasoline but from normal wear … KennyV.
PS… I see this is your first post, WELCOME to the best forum on the net… and do post back with what you find…

Whole different injection system than what this tractor has.

Thanks for the info,
Well problem has been solved. If anybody still is out there, farms been busy haven't been on the computer. Had a mechanic come out and fix it! One of the injectors had been adjusted (at the top of the pump the injectors can be adjusted and when somebody took off one of the injectors must have accidentally moved it). Huge relief, only $80 and a box of fruit. Take care out there
