Help with cheap tractor purchase

Well NLO(bro) about time you posted/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif. I see I've been learnin' ya good. I've never berated you, have I/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif? What are brothers for?

These guys are giving you good advice. I still think you should lean toward the hydrostatic trans for the shape and features of your lawn. I don't think you'll have trouble getting into one within your budget.

That BX22 would make quick work of your lawn so you wouldn't have to mow/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif. But then you'd need a tank to get thru it.

Thanks all for the help. I ended up with a one year old Craftsman Garden Tractor from a family friend. I will keep you all posted as to the wear and tear I may have or any issues that pop up.
It seems from what I have been reading that it is a hit or miss deal with the Craftsman. Lets hope this one is a hit!

I persoanlly have never gone wrong with Craftsman, mower or otherwise. Parts availability is great. I order parts thru the Internet when I need them, always get them in 5-7 days.

Hey Argee,What model Case is that? I'm looking for pics and info for a 442 Case.(My Dad bought one for $1000 in good shape)

It's a model 446. It has a 18 HP Onan crammed in it. Guess I should get the right hood for it, but the torch job works pretty well./w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

For the money a craftsman costs,my use strictly mowing with 15 1/2 hp motor,Hydro. you cant go wrong,I paid about $1200 new for mine in the spring of 1996 and I mow from 2 to 4 lawns,I keep the oil changed and I had to replace one belt(which was my fault for abusing)and a few blades, and I replaced 1 battery.A good little lawn mower for the money.
Also parts are not a problem.One of the few times I have invested money and felt like I got my money back on something like this.
