Help with top link adjustment for rotary cutter.

Yep, the first time I did it was at the bottom of a steep hill. It folds the cutter up like a pocket knife. Broke my top link pin. I actually did that twicw (not on the same day) and that convinced me it was time to go to a chain since I couldn't change my hills. I checked on a pre-made one and they wanted a zillion dollars, hence a length of chain and 2 U-bolts.

( Soundguy ( I've also seen people adjust their sway chains so that the mower is offset to one side for fence mowing.. etc. )

I am using my rotary like a RFM now. After I beat back the grasses from the house frontage I ended up adjusting the cut for a level ride. Using the offset allows me to get close to the fences )

Back when I mowed with a 5' rear mower and a Nh 1920.. the mower just barely covered my tires, and I had to adjust my sway chains to set the mower a few inches over to get the fence line good.

When I got the 10' mower and 7610s it wasn't an issue.. the mower sticks out just over a foot on either side of the tractor.. just got to watch out about turning sharp!

( and had the cutter almost stand up and nothing happened"

Was your PTO engaged when you did this? )

I'm amazed that it didn't get into his pto shaft seal or bearing... I've helped my stepfather repalce his pto flange, shaft and bearing carrier twice now on his JD 2240 when an employee either used a too long pto.. or got it in a bing and compression.. etc.

I don't know why it didn't damage something else. I did that when I still had th L3010. It was a larger framed than the 3054 I now have. I don't know if it would damage the Kioti or not but I am not going to find out. I keep those runners up at the bottom of the hills. I have not had that happen since I lowered my lift pins and went to a chain.
