1967 Ford 5000 w/FEL(sold), 1950 Farmall Super A for the wife to drive around (needs fixed) 2024 Kubota B2601 FEL & BH
Okay 2 weeks ago I bought what I thought was a 1975 Ford 5000 FEL tractor

when looking through Posts here saw mention of a tractor with old sheetmetal and noticed mine was pre 68 tin; well...

I am confused by info from multiple sites on import vs domestic

my numbers which are very clear and crisp

51014C

7K20

*B079561 (seems low compared to US serial numbers)

So I deciphered it as;

5000, all purpose, diesel, Ind.540 pto, w/8spd tranny

1967 Oct. 20th (no shift ID?)

*, made in England, sn#079561

Is the "STAR" stamped before the B mean anything?

What differences in imported v/s domestic tractors?

So it looks to be 8 years older than I thought, the last owner showed me model number as 5 = 1975 oh well I will still keep her :D

Is this correct?

used:
FORD CODES and SERIAL NUMBERS
And
Ford 2, 3, 4, 5 Serial Numbers | Vintage Tractor Engineer

tractordata is more US biased
TractorData.com Ford 5 tractor information

You are above my abilities to confirm. There are a couple guys on here that are very good at this. Hopefully they will chime in with clarity. I'm interested in the answer as well. My '84 3910 has some British markings but I'm not sure where it was made.

well have hood and stuff off tracking down why electrical stuff doesn't work and leaks and such and discovered it is wired like a "C" model with 2 pc harness not like a "B" model

good news? the generator is working good

Ford 5000 Grill Insert Upper - C9NN8A163AG
1971-1975

And
same as above except for no emblem, holes yes emblem no 1968/1970 5000
Ford 5000 Grill Panel, Upper - C7NN8150G

And

this what I think my lower looks like 1965 to 1968
Ford 5000 Grill Screen - C5NN8202AA

similar to other vendors also...

I am not building a show piece that is for sure, just curious

Your ID seems right by me, 1967 model.

there is a difference in engines from the early 65-68 models to the 68+ models. Believe it was a bore size change. Early ones were 4.2 x 4.2 for 233 cu in. Later ones got a 4.4" bore, for 256 cu in and a tad more power.

Knowing what it is may be kinda important when it comes time to buy service parts for it...... :2cents:
