"I find it hard to understand that a company as large as TSC cannot , with a key stroke, stop the filling of an order that is going to cost them money to ship an item to south Texas and then back...."
Therein lies the issue......being a big company means that TSC is almost surely using a major carrier (UPS/FedEX/etc) to handle the vast majority of its logistics for them. It's likely that you order was received and bundled with a number of others for shipping to a regional distribution point......and for the carrier, considering time and cost, it may well be easier and cheaper for them to simply go ahead and ship it rather than interrupt the shipment. The one hour cancellation policy would be explained by this.......their company is receiving, filling, and bundling orders at something a little over 1 hour's time so unless you get it cancelled in quick order its filled and out the door.
