Tire Selection Help with understanding and selecting new tires.

/ Help with understanding and selecting new tires. #21
Running mismatched tires puts a huge load on your differentials and transmission. The rears need to be a matched pair. So do the fronts. In addition to that, the circumference ratio for the front to rear tires must match the tractor's internal 4WD ratio. Maintaining the correct front to rear ratio is why the manufacturer has specified only certain tires for 4wd. 2WD is much more forgiving.....

Looking at your photos, I say you should immediately replace all 4 tires. Running mis-matched tires like that on a 4wd tractor that large in any high traction ground is asking for major repair bills. Your best bet is to use the manufacturer's recommended tire sizes. If you are not going to do that, at least get some advice from someone you trust.

Let me be blunt: The questions you are asking tell me that you don't yet understand how the gearing of a 4WD tractor is affected by the tire size - but it is. You can learn about it, but it will take some study and that will take some time. Until then the best bet is to use the manufacturers recommendation. You've probably got enough other things to do.
Good luck,
rScotty
