If it heats up that fast you may need to take the radiator to be rodded out. The design spec is it can run indefinitely, continuous, at full rated hp without problems. Think of powering a ditch pump or something. Obviously finish mowing isn't working it as hard as it was designed to allow before overheating.put the finish mower on, and took a look at temp and just started to go over 190° shuther down right on the spot.

I once bought a replacement cylinder head for a Trooper with a warranty that was valid 'only if you put in a new radiator along with this head'. Your 40 year old radiator likely isn't shedding heat as fast as it should. In fact poor cooling might be what ate the prior head gasket.
