Yanmar ym2000
I just bought a Yanmar RSB1300 tiller for my ym 2000. Nice looking piece of equipment, with lots of wheels, levers, and cranks. But to my dismay when I got it home and tried to hook it up to the three point on my tractor it seemed as though the top link was way to long the bottom arms way too short ann the PTO shaft too long, tiller too close the back wheels. I need help I am missing some thing here but did'nt want to go off half cocked. My first thought was to see if I could get about a 8'' top link and cut the PTO shaft down. but that would still leave the tiller about 2" off the back wheels. Thanks for the help.

Original hookup used a double jointed top link affair. We always sell it WITH the tiller, as it is essential for hookup to keep the tiller out of the tires when lifting it. If you look closely at the back of this tractor Tiller top link you will see the linkage used. The 2000 takes one slightly different, but the principle is the same. It moves the point of swivel about 10" further away from the tractor. (Thanks to Aaron Hoye, as their website had this picture readily available, while we, in our typical Midwestern modesty, prefer not to show our tractor's naked behinds /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) Some dealers may have an extra they can sell you....we might, but I'd have to remember to look, and that's a long shot. You're welcome to email if you want me to look.

Here's a picture of my 2210 hookup with an RS1400. I think it might be similar.

How important is it to have the rear wheels for those Yanmar tillers?

The wheels seem to be missing from tillers auctioned on Ebay.

I have removed the wheels from my tiller and use the draft control almost exclusively. I also engage the stop on the height adjustment (wing nut & bolt). The only time I notice the wheels would be beneficial is when I am using the tiller and tractor in reverse....it tends to bite down and dig in enough to stall the tractor if your not feathering the height control.

Nice pictures they'er were a 1000 words, thanks for the for the info everbody else. My tiller was missing the top link and the pto shaft is alittle too long. I should be getting a shorter shaft and the top link set latter this week. Oh boy I can't wait till it gets here. Garden is just achin to be tilled. Which speed do you guys till in My tractor has 3 pto speeds. what rpm and gear. Thanks

I use PTO-1 for my first pass with the tiller, and then PTO-2 for the second one, both at 2200 engine rpm. Be careful not to use the higher PTO speeds with other implements, though.

My importer doesn't have the wheels sent in the containers from Japan anymore. They are just a big pain to mess with, and as Mark mentioned, you don't need them.

Question:

I have a YM2000 w/ FEL. I have come across a YM tiller, from an ad. I want to go look at it, but I want to be sure I have all my information.
I cannot tell from the decal which RS model it is. The paint appears to be the light green color.
The tiller does have the wheels, I see a drive shaft, but I do not see the 3pt. bracket which bolts to the tractor. It is advertised as a 3pt tiller.

Is there anything else I should be looking for? Being it is not to far away, I thought I would load up my tractor and take it with me so I can fitup and make sure the tiller even works or atleast turns. Will I have a problem getting the upper bracket?, or can I make something else work just as well?
