Helping neighbors

Are used to plow the cottage neighbours' private road – just for fun! It was about a half a kilometre long, and served about 15 cottages. No big deal. We all kind of help each other out from time to time.

I'll take my tractor and roll back the snowbanks around the neighbors mailboxes. Trying to shovel that ice out is near impossible and only takes a couple minutes with the tractor.

I've pulled a couple stumps and a few fence posts for neighbors, unloaded a few heavy things and carried an engine back to a shop because a shop crane won't roll in gravel.

Yes sir,I have 2 neighbors in there mid 80,s mow the grass in summer and remove the snow from driveways in the winter.Gives me a good feeling inside because one day I might be in the same boat.LOL...

I spent over 30k just so I can be a helpful neighbor to a few around here. The saying "My pleasure" has never been truer with me.

I snow plow the neighbors drives(mostly are family),one older couple that
their kids are up and gone.

Most of the neighbors on our road help each other to their ability. Mow, push snow, and minor grading work on the road. Got some salmon dropped off from neighbor that had a good year. A bunch of us showed up to help put out small chicken house fire last winter. Feel very fortunate to have these people as neighbors.

I am glad to see other folks like me. I have 3 neighbors close by. One has COPD and relies on his wife to do EVERYTHING. I help her whenever she needs it and mow her yard if she doesn't get to it when I see it needy. My other neighbor is on oxygen 100% of the time, so I do all the mechanical work needed, plus help him mow. He will take his Ox. bottle on his mower and do some of it and his wife mows some of it too. I can do their yard with my ZTR mower in half the time it takes both of them mowing (he has 2 garden tractor type mowers).
My next door neighbor is 80 YOA but still going strong. I mowed his yard a few times when he was not able and take my weed eater to the fence line for him when needed.
I just like to keep busy so this gives me some needed exercise to help keep my diabetes in control. They are really doing me a favor by letting me work for them.

I have done a lot of snow plowing, snow blowing over the years. I have been blessed with good neighbors the entire time I've lived here. I helped reroof a neighbors house, when she couldn't afford to fix it. That was in conjunction with another neighbor. I did one neighbors lawn for a year or so, he was a ww2 vet, and had health problems.

Nice thread. Glad to hear there are lots of neighbors helping other neighbors in need. I miss my two neighbors that moved. The three of us helped eachother out based on equipment and ability. Only one time did I help because of need. We had a storm that made one of their driveways impassible. I knew he was out of town and his wife and kid couldn't do it.
