I brush hog three fields for neighbors around here. The fields are just grass so sometimes I just mow it with my deck which drives the zturn guys crazy as they won't touch the high grass. hahaha.

Next door neighbors are a couple in their 80s. Next house over are their daughter and son in law. We bought the property partly because we meet them when we beat our realtor there for the showing.

The elderly neighbors have about 5 acres of former garden and pasture. Since he can't work out anymore I just took it on myself to bush hog when I do mine.

Last time I was out there I see a flash of yellow go by and realize it's the daughter mowing my yard. Shortly after I bush hogged my land and neighbors.

Mom and son in law actually tried to pay me. I explained she mowed my lawn cause she loves riding her ztr and I mowed the fields cause I love playing on my tractor.

Funny story. 4 years ago we moved from SC to VA. Found the house and property on the internet, came up and looked it over, fell in love with it and the entire area. Made an offer the same week. We did not know a soul in the state. Kids are gone, my business is from Maine to California, so wifey and I can live pretty much anywhere. So, while we are moving in, the closest neighbor, who has 4 acres adjoining our property, stops by to welcome us. He's eyeballing my man toys, tractors, tools, trailers, etc and says, Man am I gonna be happy to have you as a neighbor. I told him he was correct, as our old neighbors cried their eyes out when we left. Anyway, a few months later we have the property surveyed, 92 acres that goes all over the place, and stakes driven every 100 yards. I was out of town, when my neighbor shows up at the front door screaming at my wife we are stealing his land. And he calls the surveyor, who is known as the best in several counties, and tells him he doesn't know what he is doing. Turns out this guy bought and built his house with no survey, and now his house is 20 ft off of my line and not 80 ft like he thought. Tells me we should give him that land to be neighborly !!! Fat chance, and now he won't even wave. So, all my up the road neighbors get plowed out in snow storms, but one...

GREAT story, Stepp!!

When I lived in the 'burbs I cleared a couple of driveways for the elderly neighbors - one next door, the other across the street. Been gone for 10 years and the next door neighbor (about 87 years old now) still says how much he misses me. Neighbors across the street died before I left.

Out here most of the neighbors have toys at least as nice, if not better, than mine so I don't help much. I did plow out the next door neighbor's driveway a couple of times when we got some heavy snows. He moved about a year ago and a 19 year old girl bought the house. Her boyfriend lives with her and now we get to see his rusted '78 F-150 sitting in the yard. Hasn't moved in weeks. Out here there's no zoning against it so nothing much to do. I miss the other guy! :(

Good neighbors are a treasure, if you don't believe that, wait until a bad one moves in next to you

No truer words have ever been spoken. I used to help an elderly couple that lived up the road from me all the time. They have since passed away and the young couple that live there now have been neighbors from ****.

My closest neighbor is a widow, had hip surgery a couple years ago. I started taking her trash to the dump every Sat while she was recovering. Then I just decided to keep on doing it. No sense in both of us having to drive +10 miles for a couple bags of trash.

That's the plausible reason. The real reason is that I have an excuse to check up on her once a week. We also have her over for dinner when we entertain or whatever.

Thank god we don't have Shield Arc's POS next door!

She's an excellent baker? Lol ;-)

Uh no, the wifey unit is the baker around these parts. The neighbor is pretty much the opposite, can't cook or bake and she freely admits it. Which is one of the reasons we like to have her down when we can, she enjoys it a whole lot. It's gotta be lonely having lost her husband of +30 years.....
