Put it in my F-150. Works great, but I put a rubber mat in also. Truck was used when I bought it. I was going to go with Rino but it cost too much. The only marks on it is from my climbing tree stand hitting the wheel well's. It's easy to touchup.

I just installed it in my new RTV1100...
I had LineX in my 900 and this stuff looks very good I dont know if it will hold up as well but for 1/3 the price I could always reapply...
One note is DO NOT get it on your hands...

I have used Herculiner. It worked well. I have since went to Durabak. It can be bought in a bunch of differnt colors and textured or smooth. I use it on my flat bed trailor that hauls a trackhoe. The blade scratches it some but it takes a beating. The short side is it can only be bought in gallons.

Coated the box in the kawasaki mule about 4-5 years ago. Still holding up well.

Let the debate begin! :)
Which product, Herculiner or Durabak, is the most cost effective from the standpoints of cost, ease of application, durability, etc.?
I need to put something on the floor of my goat trailer and as many have dicovered, the spray in bedliner outfits, are much too costly. One outfit wanted more than I paid for the trailer to spray their product on the 4' x 8' trailer bed.

Well, I guess it will depend on what one's perspective is as to whether Durabak is all that cost effective versus having it done by a shop. I base this on several things. The size of my truck dictates 2 gallons which for rough black would be $160 plus shipping and then I have to install it, whereas I can get a sprayin liner with the labor done by the shop for a couple hundred more and will likely end up with a thicker liner.

Maybe the Herculiner is less costly. My neighbor uses a spray can version from either Autozone or Walmart, and likes it's durability.

One issue I would have with the Durabak is having to use the whole can at one time and only being available get it in gallons. I would like it on the fenders of my trailer, the racks on my 4 wheeler, and numerous other small applications that might come up over a few weeks or months. It may be fine stuff, but could be better, IMO.

I'll throw another vendor into the mix. I've been using rattleguard on my stuff for a few years now, and it's been great. It costs about $75 for 1.5 gallons of black, or $85 for colors. It has the same down side that once you mix it, you have to use it all, but I like the fact that it's more "rubbery" feeling than herculiner. We stopped using herculiner because it kept drying, cracking, and peeling on us after a couple of years in the sun. Rattleguard hasn't done that yet. Their website leaves a little to be desired, but it's Rattleguard Spray-On Bedliner, Auto, Boat, Industrial Use and their customer service has always been great. I also like the fact that by changing the air pressure on your compressor, you can change the texture of the liner. I don't work for them, and I don't make any money off of them, I just think they make a good product for the money, and someone else might like to use them too.

Before yoiu use a roll-on liner check with auto paint stores. The one where I got stuff to repaint my horse trailer has a couple different brands and lends the gun. I don't know if that is common, but the gun is probably not expensive.

I went with Herculiner - from TBC - mainly because some report rust developing in Durabak. From what I understand, Durabak is made from old tires and the grinded steel cord rusts.
Never tried it or saw it myself, it was just a word from jeeping community.

I used a product called "HippoLiner" that was carried by the auto paint place I use. It had the feature that it could be mixed with any automotive paint to get a good to perfect color match. this was the floor of a red Toyota FJ40 land cruiser. The stuff was sold in 'kits' that had just one quart each, if I'm remembering correctly. (may very well not be but it WAS less than a gallon)

The stuff worked great and still holds up after some three years. It has a rough and rubbery texture for good traction. The color is right and it went on easily with the typical $12.95 spraygun. It's the same cheap gun that is used for flocking or wall texture, or assorted other thick material. Cheap enough to throw away instead of bothering to clean it.

I hadn't been thinking about it, but the little pieces of rubber supplied on my new Kubota backhoe don't look like they'll stay stuck down for long. So the idea of a batch of Hippoliner to do the footwell in Kubota orange is a good one, IMO.

thanks for bringing the subject up!

I also herculined the inside of my CJ-7. But keep in mind, you don't have to roll herculiner. I sprayed mine in. The key with any of these products is the prep.

Only negative thing I have heard about the Herculiner product is that the finish becomes dull after long exposure to the sun. Herculiner Company makes a product that you can treat it with to renew the finish. I am not sure if it is a spray or roll-on product and have never seen it in the store.
