Some of you may be aware through other posts of mine that I have been working on changing over my 6000 pin on loader to a QA for months.
I want to say a special thanks to Galen, who, although I did not purchase from him, really helped my through getting the right product. I got prices as high as $1700 dollars just for the QA kit.
It was struggle becasue my loader was made by Great Bend. This was a special run for Great Bend, and then KMW took over the production for Mahindra. I spent hours calling various dealers, Great Bend, and some who post here trying to track down the right product.
I finally drove about 1 1/2 hrs to a Great Bend dealer who ordered the QA kit for me. It just so happened that he was in the process of doing the same thing for another Mahindra owner making the same switch over. He had been talking to folks at Great Bend (Bush Hog) already when I called due to his other customer. He actually had his in the shop when I called. So, he knew the good old boy out in the shop of GB to get the right product.
I set the QA kit on the loader today to see how things would line up, and it looks great. Just a matter of knocking out the pins that hold the bucket on, and pinning on the QA kit to the loader. Harder part of course is getting the QA plate on the bucket.
I got the QA plate from Unlimited Fabrications. I got some other stuff, but I think the plate was about $100 or $125, made of 1/2 inch steel, all one piece. In the pictures, the plate is laying in the grapple I also just got from Unlimited Fabrications. (See post under "Attachments" for more detail on QA stuff).
So here are some pictures. I took the plate and kit down to a really good (non-Mahindra) dealer who is doing a fabulous job in setting up my 3rd function remote, fabricated a bracket to mount it on the lower part of the loader. He is also going to cut off part of the ears on the back of the Great Bend bucket so the plate will fit. I think he will be able to save a large portion of it, which will give added support. Will post some pictures of that soon.
Anyone have any questions about how to get this done on the Great Bend, just ask.
