Here we go again..fuel price (we want to know)

I paid $2.999 on Friday, but found some on Saturday for $2.899 and topped off. Also filled up a 5-gallon gas can and two diesel cans at $2.799.

Funny how diesel is higher than gas in some places, lower in other places, and in short supply and not available in other places.

Sunday I worked at the animal shelter. One of the employees had a flat and a nice guy at a station fixed it and gave her some advice.

Wait till after the holiday to buy, IT WILL COME DOWN. I paid 2.99 a gallon in a small town, cheapest we found but had many to chose from there at 2.99. We will see when tomorrow dawns on us.

I say boycott any station that did the over .50 raise in 24 hours, let them keep it. I drive about 4,000 miles a month for work, I know of one maybe 2 chains that will NOT be getting my gas money from now on.

Ireally don't understand the differences in gas prices in a short area. Yestersay (SUNDAY) we had to drive to a function 100 miles away, passed 3 stations on the road to get to ny state thruway. one was $3.64, 5 miles down the road it was $3.55 and 2 miles past that it was $3.45, got to our destination and sow one station at $3.25. looking at $.40 difference in some cases. don't really understand it. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

( So I stopped to ask how the price went up and no gas was delivered. )

This bothered me also. But, after thinking more about it they have to sell their gas for enough that they can afford to refill the tank once empty. So rasing the price before delivery allows them to accomplish this. The price still bothers me, but I understand them raising prices once they get word that the wholesale price has increased. They are not making more money at that point, just covering expenses so that they can have enough cash to refill the tanks. I know some are gouging, but most are just covering expenses like any business man /woman has to do to stay in business.

Just covering future expenses for a future higher priced fuel delivery ???
Just raise the price when the higher priced stuff is delivered, anything else is gouging.
What if the next fuel delivery is for a lower price ?

This morning, regular is now all over $3.00 in my ndighborhood; most at $3.09. That's about a 20 cent jump overnight. Sunday I paid $2.78 in Athens, about 80 mi. SE of Dallas.

Is this some new math? Since when can a number have more than one decimal point? I think you meant to write $2.589 and $3.199

MY thoughts exactly! Last week the price of crude went up, then katrina hit, oil rigs were disabled, refineres went off line , so gas went up $.30, $.40 even $.50 per gallon in one day! NOW MY QUESTION IS this week crude prices dropped, oil rigs started some pumping, refineries started to come back on line, IEA is relaesing fuel, and today the price of gas went down $.01 (here any way) why don't it come down as fast as it went up?
