When I awoken this morning the temps 21,20mph wind,15 1/2 inches of snow and still falling. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif
I'm bitting my/w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif for I still remember last winter, and I hope this won't be a replay from last winter. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif
Looks like I'll be staying home today from work. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

What was last winter like for you? Here, near Rochester, is was brutal right up until the moment we decided to buy a two-stage snow blower for backup. At that moment, of course, it stopped snowing for the rest of the winter. /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

Bob,
Last winter I want to play in the snow in the wrost way,and the folks in NY,Pa,MI etc.. were getting all the snow and lots of it and I did some whining, than it was our turn over here. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif
2 storms left over 25 inches, couple of good 16 inch plus storm, follow by handful of10 inch storms, than the wind kick in and snow drifts you wouldn't believe...all with in 2 1/2 months.
Yep..I'm bitting my/w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif about how much snow falls...at least for now. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Bob,
Your prediction could turn me into coffeeholic /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif and our cat will become more addict to TBN more so than now reading the post. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif
Winter can do strange things . /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

Northern Vermont hasn't been clobbered yet, which is very strange. Only one snowfall greater than 6" so far this year, though a series of inch or two drops have left a total of 14" on the ground so far. It heated up nicely to the low 30s yesterday, so the snow was very packable. Took the opportunity to sculpt the curves of my bobsled run and invited some friends over.

I'll tell you...an entire afternoon of 20 people sledding down my course left it slick and FAST! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif The Wife's digital camera is acting up, so I took some pics with the Nikon. Getting them developed today, and hopefully at least a couple will be scannable. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

DFB,
You also had small amount../w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif..I thought for sure you would get the same if not more.
I guess Boondox is buried over in Vermont and many others.
Just watch the Weather Channel and looks like there making excuse /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.giffor the change in the forecast.

Be careful when out an about, for you know a couple of inches is almost as bad traveling on than foot an half.

Pretty dull weather here in the Great Lakes Thomas. Yesterday was nice, near 40 with some sun. Back to low 20s this morning with a few flurries. Not sure when the lake effect machine is going to kick in again /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Rob,
I take my hat off to you folks out there, for the type of winter weather that could pop up so fast and than chances one life style for days and weeks.

Nope, Thomas, it pretty much missed us. Got a couple of inches at 30 degrees, so it was wet and extremely slick! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif Sure am glad I drive a Subaru! Driving in to work this morning, the Toyota FourRunner in front of me was fishtailing all over the place! /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif Some youngster from out of state thought his super wide tires and 4WD gave him immunity from our weather. Those of us who drive in snow know that sort of rig is a recipe for disaster.

Must be the snow gods are still /w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif at me from last year, and going to punish me w/out mercy /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif for I'm in the middle of you and DFB.

I know what your talking about, for I seen those type of drivers try and handle those rigs, and the rigs usally ends up handling them.

Drive careful and enjoy your day.

It's not that bad. I'm sure you get more snow than we do where you are. We get these wild forecasts... "5-15 inches expected tonight". And it's usually true, we may only get 5 inches but a mile from us may get the full 15. Just depends on the winds coming across the lake /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

5 or 6" and falling here in the southern tier of NY ...

Hey Guys
Get a load of this! It's going to be in the 40's today, and 60 for the next two days here in Ks.Go figure..Normally it is in the 20's this time of year.

About 5" here in WVa temp 30.9. Waiting for the wild birds to come to the bird feeders. And trying to get enough coffee down me and enough energy to go to the barn and feed and water the animals.

Yes, its not hard to be a weather forcaster in northern Indiana, is it? Typical forecast:

Partly sunny with a chance of some type of precipitation.

I suggested that they take their "Live, extremely powerful, super duper double doppler" and stick it where the precipitation doesn't accumulate! But I got no reply from any of the three TV stations in our area./w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif

could turn me into coffeeholic

C'mon, Thomas, you achieved that long ago. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

BTW -- out here on the west coast, we've had rain for about 3 out of every 4 days for over a month now. Not too heavy here in the S.F. East Bay, and the temps have been mild (50's and 60's), but conditions up at my tractor property have been just soggy enough to keep us from going up there for a long time now.

Funny how us TBN'ers guage the weather by how much tractorin' we can do.
