You guys are missing a very important point: scale of production. Pickups are built in far greater quantities than any UTV- that allows them to get the per unit cost and price down. There's far more to the pricing equation than just pounds of steel and technical complexity.

This is also an important explanation for why an oil filter for my utv costs $10 and only $5 for my truck!
