Hey, piranha tooth bar people!

Different applications, different results, I guess. My Piranha doesn't cut anything. It just pushes it. Sometimes that rips bushes out by the roots, sometimes it just pushes them over.

If I want to clear to bare earth, it is great. But it doesn't act like a lawn mower in any way. For me.

+1 Mine grabs briars and honeysuckle and basically pulls them out of the ground as I drive forward. I believe the angle cut teeth are designed more to keep the brush from folding under the bucket, than actually cutting or shearing anything. It works great in that application, but its not a mower for sure.

I agree completely. Your not "cutting anything at 0.5 MPH no matter what. And the sharpness of the thing rounds off real fast once you start digging and moving limestone/gravel with it. You may be able to ram into 1" or 2" sapling and because of its rigidity you may be able to sort of cut it... But it is never going to act at all like a weed eater or knife or weed eater by simply driving into your foliage with it leading the way.

It will help you compared to a standard straight edge for pointing the bucket down and back dragging in a rake application, the points obviously will apply pressure points that cause slight ground penetration and will assist in ripping roots along with the stalks.

Overall, I like the extreme durability and wear characteristics of the Piranha bar. With over 40 hours of hard use pushing into busted concrete and asphalt, there is no hint of a sharp edge left, but the general triangle shape is intact and the bucket that gets severely overloaded and abused is straight as the day it was made. That bar is a superb asset.

But it is not a knife, is not a chain saw, is not a mower and is not a string trimmer. Nor will it ever be.

You guys make cool stuff and all, but how come yours is over 100 bux more than the piranha tb?

Thanks.
Well, since you asked..
I can list several reasons to more than justify the price difference.

Wicked Toothbar is composed of AR450 Steel. AR450 has a yield strength of around 175,000 pounds minimum. That is 75% stronger than 100k steel and 250% stronger than 50k steel.

Our Bystronic fiber laser burns some Wicked aggressive teeth for digging, gripping and ripping, which is really effective for sapling and vine removal.

When laser time is complete, it goes to the milling machine for a very aggressive bevel.

Now she's earning the Wicked name..

On the welding table, every keeper location is indexed by the laser, so the welder simply inserts square peg into square hole and welds it on the top and bottom of the bar. This same All-Star welder, Ryan, has welded every toothbar we've ever shipped.

The Wicked Beauty is now ready for paint.

The end result is quite artful and extremely capable.

In addition to the materials and various stages involved, the Wicked toothbar is also wider, front to back, which adds more rigidity and support to the bucket in case you really wanna get rough with it. We know someone who really likes to get rough with it.

I hope this justifies the extra cost. It is, indeed, a WICKED TOOTHBAR!!!

Devil's advocate though, nobody complains about their piranha bar, even with the softer steel or less gnarly tooth pattern. But yeh, EA, your wicked toothbar certainly looks impressive, I'm sure you'll sell a bunch of them.
