Hey, piranha tooth bar people!

/ Hey, piranha tooth bar people! #31
All I know is I will probably never bend the Piranha bar like that with my GC1705 BUT and that is a BIG BUT if I had a 30-35hp tractor and up with a 60-74 inch bucket I could see bending a Piranha bar like that because I am sure I would abuse it and that is where the BAR from Everything Attachments one would be a better bar to have being it is a heavier built bar but as far as a scut goes the Piranha is a perfect fit.
MOPO is that the Piranha is good up to about 35hp and anything bigger the Everything Bar would probably be a better deal being it is built heavier but until I have my own personal experience with a bigger tractor then a scut I will stay with what I have because it has proven to do what I needed it to do.
My scut does not have enough power to try and remove a 6-10 inch stump and if it did I am sure I would bend the Piranha bar especially if it was on a 60-72 inch bucket being that is a pretty good distance to run a lighter bar.

Again my own personal opinion.

This rock was flush with the ground and the 1705 with Piranha bar had no issue getting it out by curling the bucket while pushing, I thought for sure I would damage the bar but not even a mark.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

My write-up should have way more than justified a $100 price difference and looking at the design should be self explanatory as to how much more aggressive it is.

Concerning strength...
We know how much abuse each tooth bar in question can withstand. If I'm going hunting in the woods and don't know exactly what I may run into, I'm bringing my baddest gun.
If I'm going clearing in the woods and don't know exactly what I may run into, I'm packing my Wicked Toothbar.

Like most all of our attachments, yes, we test them HARD.
Besides being a highly useful tooth bar, our Wicked Toothbar is a bucket protector.
Anything else and your bucket could end up like this... Yes, it is a compact tractor.

That's what I'm saying, I remember that post of yours with the boulder, and when I asked you if that damaged the bar, you were like, not a scratch.

See, that's where you're wrong. I don't have to sell you on anything. Nor was I ever attempting to. You initially asked for videos of EA's in action, I said where to find them. I personally don't care which tooth bar you or anyone buys, it will not change the outcome of my day one bit.

When it comes down to it, really EA doesn't have 'sell' you on it either. They've been around long enough that people know they make high quality implements that can take some serious abuse. Just as people know the the quality (or lack of) of Titan, Bestco, Pirhana, Landpride. No-one goes 'Hey LandPride, I see that box grader you just came out with looks very similar to ABC brand, time for you to sell me on it'. Anyone that has LandPride knows it's good and doesn't doubt the new product will be just as good.

So best of luck in which ever route you go.
I'm not saying you need to be selling anything, it's up to EA to sell it...which is exactly what they're attempting to do on this thread. Or do you think they're here only coz they like posting pictures lol?

Your other comment about how EA doesn't have to sell us on their products is ridiculous. Only a brand-loyal fanboy "knows it's good and doesn't doubt the new product will be just as good." The mindful consumer weighs his options, asks questions, reads reviews, etc.

The first thing I did when I got it out was to look at the bar, I figured at least it was bent or I chipped a tooth but nope nothing, will see what kind of trouble I can get it in this next summer.
If a person finds someway to bend the bucket the bar will bend with it you would think.

Did it? Not really though, not in terms of this thread. How would your tooth bar benefit a scut any more than piranha bar would? You never really got to that, right? Are you saying that while I have your tooth bar mounted on my bucket, it's ok for me to beat on my gc1710 to the point that a piranha bar would bend/break? I'd be weary of that advice.

Lol, so owning a single EA item (grapple bucket) out of the (8) attachments/implements I have makes me a fanboy now? Will be (2) of (9) once my EA tooth bar shows up. As a shooter I definitely know the difference between hardness of steel. So there was no debate of which I was going with despite the price difference. Not that I intend to shoot either with a 308 or 50 Beowulf. But I also don't intend on the potential replacement of a tooth bar down the line either.

Anyone that's been around tractors & implements knows which brands are utter junk and which are good to go without having to invest hours of research, review reading. But ya, if one isn't familiar with a certain implement it is wise to do some research.

However, if you know that company ABC has a long history of manufacturing high quality products across the board, you would really have little reason to think that a 'new' item from them wouldn't follow their previous standards. Just as if you know company XYZ makes junk, one's going to naturally assume their 'new' item will be junk.

Being that EA isn't mass marketed, mass retailed, if you've heard of them, you're aware of the quality and ya, slightly higher price tag that is associated with higher end products.

Just as the opposite that could be said with the cheap Titan products that are marketed & sold EVERYWHERE (including Amazon with free Prime shipping).

I’d have to agree. It’s a loader/scooper not a dozer.

Ok great cjoffutt, thank you for your input. Moving on [or rather back] to MY application, which again, is to rip through cattails and tall grass...

Exhibit A:

Exhibit B:

So out of these 2 products, which one is more likely to self-clean as opposed to getting clogged up with material, to the point that the bucket lip is wearing a grass mustache?
