Hi boys keep it neat and tidy Stihl or Husqvarna Chansaws

They're all dangerous. Each and every one of them. Small saws may make it easy to forget the gravity of the situation at hand. Also, top handle saws as discussed above tempt people to use them one handed and or above the shoulder, both of which are no-nos. Not saying you it doesn't happen, but I just about guarantee that the manual for those 201ts says to use both hands.

So were not supposed to use any Pro saws? I have a Echo 271T and that's the best damm trimming saw and nice and lite too.

I've cut plenty of wood in my time but I'll do almost anything before I climb a tree with a chainsaw in my hand, even an ax is safer.
My hat's off to those that do climb with chainsaw in hand.

My ever-work-when-I need it saw is a Husqvarna 50 with an 18 inch bar.

I climbed in my younger years and used a chainsaw, always the smallest I had at the time never a top handle. I now have a top handle Stihl and find it very good for cutting the smaller stuff. Lugging the 041 and the ms360 cutting small stuff gets old real quick. Bad knees keep me on the ground now.

I may be in trouble....No one told me that when I bought my 372xp.

For clarification: a homeowner is just what it says, someone who owns a home. They are not inherently a tree surgeon/arborist by training or because they own a home/yard/trees, etc. Just as flying on a plane does not make one a pilot.
Pro saws are meant for use by professionals, especially arborist specific saws such as top handles.
Can homeowners buy and use pro saws? Some do buy pro saws and use them, doesn't mean they are qualified to safely handle them.

Ditto ... gravity can be a harsh teacher. With chainsaw in hand, I prefer feet on good ol' terra firma.

All the heat for my home and workshop come from firewood, so 20 some years ago I gave up on buying cheaper chainsaws and bought me a Stihl 034 and never looked back. Recently I bought a new Stihl 180 and decided on buying the Stihl 362CM and use my 034 for back up, I have only run 2 tanks of fuel through the 362CM so far, but as good as this saw cuts, without even being broken in yet, I see no reason for any mods. I also have a top handle Redmax saw I carry in the jeep during the winter to cut through snowfalls and windfalls and sometimes use for limbing, don't know how it would compare to a Stihl top handle, but so far after having to rebuild the carb, it's been a good saw.

"Just as flying on a plane does not make one a pilot." I hope your a pilot if your flying me around...Never heard of these rules for buying Saws.

Good points, and I do respect your opinion as a fellow pro. I guess my beef is with non-pros using arborist saws, even with two hands on the saw while cutting, even on the ground, regardless of any use by an amatuer in a tree. Any saw has great potential for injury to the operator and bystanders, and accident prevention is my top priority regardless of who is using a saw or other powered tool.
Be safe. Enjoy life....
You're not a professional farmer so you shouldn't drive a tractor. It's dangerous.
