Tractor
Ford 961
Just a quick hi.

I'm just retired.
Live in Ontario Canada, between Belleville and Kingston.
I keep about a one acre veggie garden.
I use the tractors on that, and to plow snow, mow grass, etc.

I have some old tractors, and some old trucks and cars; which seem to always need some attention.

The tractors are:
Ford 961 (my "everyday" tractor)
Ford Jubilee (doesn't get much use, it's over at a relative's place)
Farmall Super A (works hard keeping the weeds out of my veggie garden)
Tractomotive (presently seized and parked, seems I let some water get in through the exhaust!)

And I have quite a few implements, in various states of rusty disrepair:
A bunch of 2 bottoms, including a butterfly and some flip flops.
A Ferg dump trailer
Some discs, one ways, various cultivators and tilling equipment
Some front blades and rear buckets
A couple of one arm loaders
Some old mowers and rakes
etc

And a bunch of old Land Rovers, and a Mog, a 1950 Ford truck, etc.

Lots of projects I'd like to be working on; always something I need to use breaks; and it becomes the priority.

Today the priority is to hang a one arm loader on the 961 Ford, and to get it, and the associated Selectrol Valve working. Right now I have the valve apart, cleaning out the detent ball bearing and spring, and trying to get everything freed up and working.

I'll post new thread in an appropriate forum.

Regards to all

Hi there, welcome aboard ! Sounds like quite a collection you have there. Summer up there yet ? Still working the Mog ? Have you got any attachments for it?

welcome.

I'vde love to see pics of your fords.. especially the 961
is it a standard rowcrop or a hi crop conversion?

narrow front ( dual wheels ).. narrow front single wheel, or a wide front? if wide front is it a ford factor front or something like a schwartz.

gas diesel or lp?

Hi all;

Thanks for the welcomes.

Yes, summer has arrived up here.
Too much rain, but the garden is coming along.

No implements for the Mog. It's a Swiss army version. More of a hauler, and a recovery vehicle; my "going to get parts" truck. It gets through things pretty well. Good truck.

The 961 Ford is a gas, dual narrow front wheels. I also have a wide front end for it. Just standard height. Not too pretty. Some previous owner painted it blue, changed the front tin, and decalled it up like a 4000. I have the tin to change it back; priorities keep getting in the way. Looks like it might have been a selectoshift at one point. I'll take some pics, and try to post them. But as I say, not too pretty; it's a worker. Right now I'm trying to hang a one arm loader from it; so it can work even harder.

Thanks for the greetings.

I have plenty of those ford 711 and 722 1-arm loaders.

most of them are on ag models.. but I do have a couple on rowcrops, including one on a 951 single wheel narrow front that started life as a lp gas machine and ws converted to gasoline.

can't wait to see the pics

Hi Groundcover;

I'll attach some pics of the Mog.
It's a Swiss army version, not really an "implement carrier".

Hi Soundguy;

I got the one arm loader on, and working (sort of).
It's quite wobbly; looks like I need to fab a bottom bracket, from the bottom of the loader to the bottom of the tractor. I see there are some mounting holes.

The Selectrol Valve is a real pain; practically unusable. It's very slow to raise the loader at first, and then is very touchy. I'll need to plumb in some different hydraulics.

I see that there's an adapter plate available from Steiner (I'll try to attach a photo). With that I should be able to use a conventional hydraulic control, I think.
Is the adapter plate the way to go; or is there a better way?

I'll go and take some pics of the old 961, and post them.

Thanks
