hi there
we've just moved in to a new house at the top of a mountain ~ we need to.move snow and quickly

we've found a 1985 zetor 7245 with 2500 hours on. there is a plough with it but no snow blower or chains.

im looking for some real good advice on whether this will be up to the job and if so would we need to budget for chains and snow blower...

please help!

Welcome to TBN!

From TractorData.com:
TractorData.com Zetor 7245 tractor transmission information

Gears: 10 forward and 2 reverse
As long as your snow blower works in forward gear, and your forward gears allow you to move slowly enough, then I would guess you will be fine.

You live at the top of a mountain in London? Really?

That is a nice tractor. With the plow, that should be fine. Google says 70hp. A snow blower is nice, easy - but you probably don't need it. Get tire chains for the rear. Can you plug the tractor in to keep it warm for cold starting in the winter- makes things so much easier. Good luck and have fun.
Put the tractor undercover so you don't have to brush snow off the seat!

Welcome to TBN from Iowa. It all depends. If you get a lot of snow and wind snow blower would be advisable. Otherwise plough would be fine. The plough makes banks on the side of the road and when wind blows it will fill the plowed area with new snow. Over time the banks gets to high making the plowing and snow disposal difficult.
