One more blast and we should get a break. Hoping for no round 2 later tonight.
Let's see everyone safe tonight

OK I checked and we’re going to get it sometime after midnight. Good thing I got everything covered up that needs to be!

Got another nice bunch of rounds of Maple from our new neighbor across from our rental property. I love Hardwood!

Just arrived in southern Illinois from northern Illinois.

A couple mins of rain going down I-57 but that’s about it.

Radar shows a line of storms heading this way from St. Louis.

It’s partly cloudy and pretty windy right now

We were right in the middle of the 5 area, 5 being the area likely to get tornados, hail and high winds. It almost entirely missed us, maybe a tenth of an inch of rain. I know north and south of us had tornado warnings. The Quincy Illinois news site had pictures of large hail and broken windshields in the area.

About 7:00 it started raining and a little while later turned into a downpour. That let up and about 7:30 we got a bunch of marble sized hail. Biggest hail I've seen here in many years. I think another storm is on the way, may go through after midnight, but it looks a lot smaller.

Stay safe out there!

Wind really picked up here late afternoon with rain as dark fell. They're calling for 30mph winds gusting 50 tomorrow. Glad I took the 100 ft tree down by our big barn a few days ago. Big solid tree but with termite riddled base.

Storm Prediction Center doesn't issue these lightly. When they do, people need to pay attention.

"
A Major Severe Weather Outbreak is Forecast Today and/or Tonight
A severe weather outbreak appears increasingly likely, centered on this afternoon and evening, across a large portion of the Mississippi Valley. At least a few long-track, strong to potentially violent tornadoes are probable, particularly over portions of the Mid-Mississippi Valley to the Mid-South. Swaths of intense damaging wind gusts along with very large hail are expected as well.

I seen on the radar there was a 2 mile (?) white spot in the middle of the bad stuff where it was possible to get 2" to 3" size hale. That spot missed me by about 4 miles to the east.

We got lucky, just 40 mph winds.
