Thanks so much for your info! your a mountain of knowledge on this tractor! as for the temp sending unit, mine doesnt have one, nor does it have a light.(after long and hard looking) panel has oil, fuel, charge, and glow plugs lights. am trying to figure a way to mount temp guage somewhere(maybe in upper red hose). so how do you like your tractor, and what kind of implements do you have for it? have you had any problems with it since ownership, and have you found a good place for parts? so far all i have for mine is a 5ft finish mower. its a little large, so i am thinking of maybe trading for a 4ft if i can find one. once again, thanks a million for the help, and i will definately keep in touch on this forum. By the way, i see you are in OKC. i am about 2 hrs away in Beggs. funny, huh?

Buppy69 - Thanks for the clarification.

BDunegan - Wow! Small world! I have to admit that my house is closer to Beggs than my tractors. My tractors are down near Tishomingo. I have a smaller 4' brush hog that I keep on one tractor and a box blade on the other. I have a tiller too but I've never even hooked it up to try it. Maybe one day my money tree will bloom so I can pick up a front end loader for one of the tractors. :D
Anyway, both tractors seem to be tough little tractors. However, the injector pump on the C144 became seized (wouldn't pump a thing out of two injectors). I removed the injection lines between the pump and the injectors & cranked the engine noting no pressure except on one line. I noticed what appeared to be a little piston working in the one good line that didn't work in the other two when I cranked it over. Using a small punch, I gently tapped the other two stuck pistons until they freed up. I'm not sure if I've messed up something or not. It runs now but it belches black smoke like nobody's business! Oh well. Hopefully running it will clear things up!

Black smoke means injection pump is out of time or you're getting too much fuel to the cylinders.

Thanks Eugene! Could I have gotten it out of time by tapping the pistons in the top of the injection pump with a punch to free them? Two of the three were stuck so I gently persuaded them to freedom. The tractor hadn't been started in nearly a year and I'll bet water was pulled into the pump (no fuel filter :eek: ). When I bought the tractor, it did not have the water trap / fuel filter and I ran it like that for about a year with no problems. Anyway, there's a filter on it now!:D

Wow, Shimp.

Where did you find this? That's a scan of a chart I made up several years ago and gave to a friend of mine in S.C. who started selling Hinomotos!

thank u for making it available to the masses, as it seems the hinomoto stuff is either a secret or just not much out there....

I cannot find the location of replacing the Fuel Filter for the C144?? Can someone give me an idea where to find it? I have the other 3 filters.

Second question is: I have absolutely no power. It runs rough also. What ideas are there to pursue?

Follow the fuel line from the tank to the injector pump . If there's one on it, it will have to be there. Rough running could be bad fuel, head gasket, improper valve adjustment, worn or broken rings, stopped up injectors, etc.
