Wow I was impressed by the Glock test, I knew they were tough, but sheesh! We have plenty of crack heads around here too.

I carry all the time. When at our cabin property, where the tractor is, I carry a Glock 22 in a Blackhawk Serpa holster. I like it a lot and can wear it with or with out a belt. It also retains the gun so no worries of it coming out of the holster when tractoring or what ever.

I guess seeing as this is about holsters I must add my recommendation.

I use and love a Crossbreed Super Tuck which I carry in the waistband at the 4 o'clock position. I am a LARGE guy and it does not get uncomfortable either.

Crossbreed has the Kydex holster body with either cowhide or horsehide (horsehide does not absorb sweat like cowhide).

The hide evenly distributes the pressure, surface area across a larger area than just a narrow holster.

The Kydex locks the weapon in place and if correctly fit (adjusted) it will never "accidentally fall out". There is no straps or locks to hinder full quick access to your weapon.

I have 2. One for my Glock 30 and one for my Bersa 380.

I possibly would never get a different make unless they were similar to CB

Just google " crossbreedholsters " and you will see their products.
(I did not want to put an actual link so no one thinks I am pushing the company or spamming the forum)

They offer a 2 week free trial and a lifetime warranty and their shipping and service is exceptional

I have a Don Hume for my sig 239, but my full sized carry (sig 226) goes in a sig jacket, it looks like a carhart, but has two panesl (left and right) with a place to hold your pistol. Very nice jacket. I also have an idpa holster for it, if i am out side with it.
My wife has the lcp ruger 380 nice little gun.
My thought is if i am with my daughter and something happens, animal or person, whats the one thing i can do to make sure she is safe. Its easy carry.

I personally have been carrying a "pancake" holster for the last 30 + years. Everything from a 1911 to a Walther PPK. It can be covered with any type of shirt or jacket & is very comfortable. My other suggestion is what a friend uses, a fannypack holster. His answer, "Yes, everybody knows it's a gun. The good guys don't care & the bad guys go away & leave me alone".

You don't have coyotes where you live?

Or wild dogs or worse, wild people, trespassing on your land with weapons.

We have more suspicious people show up at our house in the country than EVER showed up in all of the years we lived in the city. Strange how that happens. People ignoring gates, private road signs, and no trespass signs. Why would these people show up at our house? Why do some of them go to the BACK door? Things that make you go hmmmmm...

Later,
Dan

Nope...Then again...we have 30 LEO's for our township of 13,000...and if you travel to the other end of the township, you are dealing with the "Mexican Mafia"...:confused2:

Thank for all of the input. Compact, I'm happy you live in a place without coyotes, wild dogs, and trespassers, but I don't. I have all three. Since my wife and I don't yet live at the farm it's inviting to trespass. I've had two encounters this year with individuals who got an attitude when I told them to leave and not come back. We also have a significant wild dog problem. Thus, I've decided to be proactive. I plan on carrying the weapon on my person so I was hoping there might be a holster I wasn't aware of that would afford at least some protection against dirt and other debris. Thanks!
I have a CCW and carry most of the time.I just read where police officer deaths are up 37% in the US.My wife will be taking her CCW class next month.I use a safariland or Kramer custom holsters.coobie

Well, I'm sure if we had all of them we would be carrying firearms around too...
