I had the garage door installed. Glad I did because it was a real pain.

The place looks great and it looks like you got alot of work done in a short time.

Well it's done. Added a work bench and loaded it up. As you can see, there is room for a few more tractor tools and a four wheeler or two.

Thanks. It came out well for our first pole building. The lumber yard messed up the order big time. Originaly, I got a quote for a 16x24 building and after thinking about it, I questioned how much more it would cost to make it 16x32. The price was only a few hundred more so I ordered the package. Well I got the package for a 16x24 with the exception of the extra 4x6's and 2x4's. We got shorted the extra metal for sides and roof and small stuff like F chanel, rodent guard and soffett. More of a hassle than anything and the lumber yard did help out with their mistake.

I was thinking sonotubes w/ rebar or something to that effect because you are up in a pretty good frost area. Think she'll be alright just being tamped in? Thats what I was curious about. Nice looking place. Wish I had one. It'll be next spring at the earliest for me and I'm just trying to get ideas. Great pics....

I understand that's the way the Amish around me are building them. I assumed concrete woud be used, but was talked out of it. Hope that's the right choice. I guess I'll be the first to know if it moves. :(

I have to build something similar for my tractor before our spring storms hit. We get lots of large hail and always have high winds. What kind of winds do you think this one can stand up to? Mine needs to be considerably bigger if I'm going to get my tractor and horse trailer in it. Taller too. But being able to stand up to 100 mph winds is my big concern. It happens here more often than I care for. Out last prefab shed is a mile away out in the neighbors field now. What's left of it anyway.

WOW!! 100mph! I have no idea what it will stand up to. It is the same design and materials as a whole bunch here in SE Ohio. That and the fact it is cut into a rather mature wooded area, the brunt of the wind force should be deflected somewhat. I quess wind strength and snow load are a few questions I never asked. Driving to my cabin property we must pass at least 50 pole barns of like construction and all seem to be OK. Around here, a 70 mph wind gust is about it. Hope my luck holds.

We had sustained 50 mph winds all day friday and saturday. Not fun. It's typical though. In 4 years on this farm we've had 5 near miss tornadoes and one cross our property. All were small but still. I was standing in the barn watching the one that hit us while I was trying to hold on to the horses and saw my neighbors horse shelter fly by right before my hog pen took off. That was scary!
Really though, on the plains here the weather is nasty. over 50 mph winds are common. 60-100 mile gusts are real common too. We open the hatches to get under the house every time a storm comes through now.
I think uunless we take a direct hit from an f4 or bigger the house should hold up ok. It's had one direct hit from an f3 before. That;s when the steel roof got put on. I'd sure hate for anything to happen to my new tractor though. I'm awfully proud of that thing.
