Yes jet fuel is similar to diesel and will run in a diesel engine but is a dryer fuel in terms of lubrication. With an additive, I'd think it would be O.K. to use in a diesel engine.
We knew that and always added some engine oil.
Also there are different grades of jet fuel, JP3, JP4. One grade leaves a smoke trail when the aircraft climbs out and pollutes like crazy.
