Home heating propane cost

I can not remember when we had to fill our tank in the winter twice. We live north of Houston. My tenant has been here 11 years and the is the first time for him too.

Our house is good and tight and we run it at 70 to 71 during the day and 69 at night. I paid $2.41 today or $425 then we filled RV too, so $470! Dange that's awful.

Then on top of it 32 at night the rest of the week. Would you believe Wed I think it is they are predicting 1 to 3 inches of snow late at night. We are to far south for this kind of weather.

Wow that must be tough to take down there. Up here we see 32 in October and then again in April (just kidding) yesterday it was nearly 50 degrees up here, but it has moved back down into the 20's and we are bracing for a nice winters week of snow, freezing rain, winds all the good stuff. Oh and our house never sees 70 degrees until June or July.

Just paid $3.20 + taxes for my Home and Business. My house rental customers have to pay $4.09 + taxes COD. Using Suburban as a supplier here in central Ky. Ken Sweet

Yep - the Paradise tax  We only have a single supplier, so no choice.

We use propane for cooking, hot water (on demand), clothes dryer, and we do have propane fireplaces in the livingroom and bedrooms - really nice on those damp, rainy days, although classifying them as heating might be a stretch. :D We don't live in postcard Hawaii and sometimes the temps dip to a downright chilly 59 :D

I really wanted to do solar H/W, but at over $6K, I couldn't see it. IMHO, the suppliers/installers figure the rebates/incentives into their pricing. We are totally off grid so didn't qualify for the electric company rebate and the tax incentives at the time would have reduced the price to still greater than $4K. Someday, maybe I can just do a DIY.

David

Thanks.
That's the way the solar water pricing looks here too - even far from paradise :) 59*! That has to be hard to take  It is nice at that temp to have a little heat , even just to take the dampness out feels better.
Dave.
