Home workout equipment (cowboydoc...??)

I measured my bowflex last night. The height is 73" to the top of the rods so 6.5' is enough room as long as you don't have a lat tower. The minimum operating width would be about 7' and the length without the leg machine is about 6'. These dimensions are for the "Power Pro" model. I don't know if the newer "Ultimate" model is the same size or not. Hope this helps.

MJB,

Thanks much. Yes I will take them measurements and see if they will work in the room I want. I also have a storage room it would fit in for sure but I would have to move my sister-n-law out first. Well maybe I should just do that anyway!!

Richard,

You have what is called ELPS, Excessive Lateral Pressue Syndrome. You need to get to a doc or therapist that can fix that before you start an exercise program. Any exercise that you do will only make that problem worse. You also aren't going to fix it with the bowflex or any other piece of workout equipment for that matter. You will probably just make it worse.

No offense to anyone but there is also alot of misinformation going on here as well with relation to exercise. I would recommend talking to your doctors or at the very least a good trainer before starting any of the programs or taking the advice here.

The best way to get some exercise might be to sell your tractor! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Sorry, couldn't resist.

I've had the same experience as many here.. just lack of motivation to actually use the exercise equipment.

In my family, all the guys develop pot bellies the second they turn 40. I asked my doc how to lose it, and he laughed and said "Good luck!"

The funny thing is, I'm skin and bones except for the darned stomach. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif At one point I was even running 10 miles/day. Made absolutely no difference! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Last thought.. have you thought of yoga or simply doing things like pushups and situps, etc.? No expense, and no need to store anything.

Let us know how you make out?

OUCH!
If I recall, the price was about $45 for Dietlog (which is the version I'd asked about) ... so you're already over $85 ???
I liked the program but didn't think I was losing enough weight from my fingers doing all that data entry /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I found that I have to add way too many items to the database ... so after the trial period ended, I just unloaded it.
It's too bad that the market is so small that they have to charge that much to recoup the expenses .... if it were more in line with other "shareware" I'd take another look at it.

Hey...that's not funny. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif I actually had a doctor recommend that sell the garden-tractor that I had, and push mow my 2.5 acres of lawn. He was serious. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif He was probably right, but I found a new doctor instead. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
