Homebrew steel tires and wheels?

Put me down for a set , they are exactly what I need when clearing scrub with my tractor . Too many times have I looked down to see a front rim on the ground or a spray of water shooting out the back after ive run over a sharp stick . Can you buy these or are they all self made ?

If the steel wheels serve a utilitarian purpose, I can understand and respect that. I also can see why the county doesn't want them on the roads.

Now if the wheels represent a religious belief to discourage trips into town for a rowdy visit at the local DQ; then I put that line of thinking into the masochistic self flagellation category.

As I understand it, rubber tires are against the Ordnung (church rules) in most of their church districts. Why are they against their church rules? I believe there are several reasons:
1. Because it is seen as a "Frill"
2. To discourage unnecessary trips to "the rest of the world"
3. Because if one church district makes a big change (such as allowing rubber wheels) the other districts are likely to shun them.

I could not live by their rules (I like computers too much ), but I admire those who do for their willpower.

you use steel instead. i saw these steel wheels when i was in Amish country. Look kinda neat to me.
