12 foot walls, 30 foot span, 1259lbs lift at full height.

Woody,
Have you considered lifting each side of the truss, from inside the barn, upside down up on the top of your walls so they are hanging upside down?
You can then move them against holding blocks at the proper location and turn them upright using a couple guys with poles or rig a rope to turn them upright using your tractor. When you get near a gable end turn the last few up so you have room for the ridge/peak to get by before nailing.
I had a 64 foot wide by 84 foot long barn with 12 foot walls built by a Mennonite contractor and that's the way they did it. The trusses have a foot wide plus soffit so were quite big but they had no problem doing it that way.

I think you're best bet might be to get a 3 point boom pole and have someone modify the bottom cross member where the 2 lower points are to make it able to be bolted or clamped onto your bucket. Then you can drill holes in the top of your bucket to accommodate a bracket in the center of your bucket to pin on the top link of the 3 point boom. It would be sturdier than one made out of lumber I think. There is a member here that did that. Here's a link to his picture.

I am getting prepared to build a pole barn and have done searches on TBN for homemade FEL boom poles without much luck. I do not weld, so I am looking for pics of boom poles constructed with lumber. I plan on using it to set the trusses. I have an idea how to build it but pics of completed ones go a long way. Show me what ya got. Thanks.

I made this in a couple hours, 8' 2x2 in .120 wall tubing, a bolt on receiver hitch mount and pin. I used chain and binders, to stabilize.
Here is a pic, with a plate inserted into the end, used a s a batering ram, to pop the tin off this roof. This was torn down and moved to my home, it will be my new shop.

Dave

What happened when you clicked the links for the pictures?

On Windows computers, if you hold down the "Ctrl" key and click the picture or link, it will open in a new tab.

They opened for me.

I am on an iPad and when I open the thread the box the pics are in is blank. When I click on it nothing happens. But thanks for putting them in your post. I can see them now. Just what I was looking for. Thanks.

I did it that way the last time I built a pole barn and it went pretty smoothly. I have seen quite a few threads on TBN regarding boom poles to set trusses so I figured if it wasn't too much effort I would put one together to make it go quicker.

I like Dr. Dave's solution. I would think it would fit the bill for you considering you don't weld.

You can get a clamp on trailer hitch receiver that clamps to your bucket from Northern Tool or Clamp On Bucket Solutions.

You can also get bolt on bucket hooks from a guy on this forum to attach stabilizing chains.
