Homemade Grapple For 200cx Loader

A member here ask me if I would give some details of my grapple. It was built 3 years ago for a JD2320. I now use it on my 2720. The side support for loader attachment is 7" wide x 2" deep channel.
The horizontal pieces are 3" wide. Vertical pieces are 2". The grapple is made with 2 1/2". Square tube is 2" x3/16" thick tube. The cylinder is 2" x 6" stroke. All the flat stock is 3/8" thick. I purchased the cylinder from Surplus Center.

A Grapple is a wonderful tool and saves a huge amount of manual labor. I use mine a lot as a blocking table. Holding the logs like your photos and blocking the wood while standing erect.

Did you build all of this Grapple?? Very nice work. Looks like it serves you well.

Don't want to derail this discussion but I'd also be interested in details concerning your tractor cab??

Great job on the grapple, as well as the cab. I too have a 200cx loader on a 4110 and I'm considering building or buying a grapple. How did you plumb for the third function? Did you use a solinoid valve on the bucket curl circuit or use power beyond and mount another hydraulic valve?
I can do the welding and assembly, but am thinking about having a machine shop fabricate the pieces. I don't have any idea what they would charge and it may be within a few dollars of just buying one, but I do enjoy these kinds of projects.

I built the whole thing myself. I think it cost around $500 for materials. I have it plumbed to a third valve installed at dealership when I purchased the tractor. Metal was cut with a floor model band saw. Ovrszd search 2320 home made cab in Build it your self forum for cab details.
