Homemade Implement Book

If you could get it printed for $20 I'd buy it if for nothing less than the learning and entertainment value. E-books are worthless to me as I prefer the printed words and illustrations so I can take it and use it anywhere and it isn't dependent on some fragile technology to operate. When the world as we know it collapses in on itself, we will need good printed reference materials.

LoL...hate to bust your bubble but about the entire printing industry relies on digital technology to print even hard copy books...

With one of my Sony readers I can go anywhere I want with no less than about 500 complete books including illustrations, maps etc...If I want another library I just switch SD cards...

IF you have a implement that will separate the acorns from the gravel in my driveway, I could really get excited as my tow behind yard vac is so critical in its setting it will not pick up what I want or just a silly millimeter more and it picks up acorns and the gravel, not what i want.......

Yep, my Samsung 10 inch tablet has yet to max out on memory... Can take it anywhere... Can recharge it in car when driving anywhere as well as at home.... Best thing ever is I can go to mall with my lady and she can shop till she drops and mall authorities have to page me so I can go get her, but in meantime I can hook into malls WIFI and read TBN till I get the page....

Yes e-books actually need large screens to be enjoyable...

I like how with an e-book I can read in bed without turning on the light and waking my wife, and it can hold a bunch of books.

But the one I have (a Kindle) is terrible for viewing images. They're so small that things like maps are pretty much unuseable. And there's no good way to flip back and forth between the text on one page and an image on another. When I'm reading a textbook or technical book I often have 3 or 4 temporary bookmarks so I can flip back and forth. A larger tablet might solve the size problem but I don't know if the software's good at temporary bookmarks. The Kindle seems to have been developed and tested by people who only read novels.

Lots of variables to consider.

My short answer would be no.

No.... I would not pay $20 US for a hard cover.. I would pay $5 for a down load version.. As long as it it not too complicated a process computer wise, as I'm not that good with technology..

I also keep a 2" thick 3 ring binder chock full of thing that I call my "Good Idea" note book.. I actually have several note books like that.. For instance.... One for tractor implements and such, another for smoke house, and other recipes I work on at times..

Musicians have basically learned to give their music away for free (or very little), and make their money with concert tickets , T Shirts, etc.

Better to have a website, or an e-book that is either free or low cost (the music), and sell the plans for individual implements/projects (the T Shirts).

I would pay for the plans, not the book.

If your book is nearly done, finish it.

Lots of us do not need commercial quality stuff for our homesteads. Cheap and dirty works. For example, I will not invest $1500 in a land grader, might spend $400 to build something that takes twice as long to do a job I do a couple of times a year.

I could honestly fill a binder or two of all the good ideas I have had over the years. A close estimate would be that after a day or two of head scratching, and pencil sharpening, 98% of them would go into the (mental) WTF was I thinking bin.
