Homemade snow plow mount?

Yes, Ray, we don't have a lot of flat ground around here!

My driveway's pretty steep; I started out using the BH for ballast, but found that the front became so light going uphill that the tractor just veered off to the side, following the crown, no matter where the front wheels were pointed.

I'd have to make multiple corrections --lift blower, back up, re-center, drive forward-- to finally get up to the top; going down was no problem, and a few times I even went so far as to just drive it back up to the top over the path I finally created and only blow snow going downhill.

Once I removed the BH, however, it worked well... except for ice! Here's a decent view of the driveway. There's a rise of about 25' going up to the dirt road; I've paved the driveway since this pic was taken.

I don't know where you got the idea mine is an older version, as it's not even a year old yet.
I may go back to my idea of using an old beer keg. I wasn't going to because I figured it was only about 150lbs, but that should be enough.

Ray was probably thinking of mine -- mine's a late 2300 series, so I do have the filter shield, but he's right, the earlier 2300s didn't have one. There were some reports of folks hitting stuff and breaking off the filter. Ouch. I think MF has installed those shields ever since-- glad they kept up with that.

Looking forward to first major snowfall, I have a Woodmaxx 60 inch snowblower with electric chute and deflector, Extra LED lights, Edge Tamers for the loader, Tire chains for the rear tires, and Berco Softcab. may set up another led light for the front becuase its always drk when I clear snow. I wonder if Im missing anything.

Update.
The hitch is working OK. I tried using 2x4 uprights at the back, but they didn't hold up, so I made them out of 4x4's.
I broke the weld at the back end where it bolts to the 4x4, so I am debating rebuilding the whole thing out of steel over the summer.
One issue is the blade angle to the side isn't quite enough for running down the drive rolling snow off, usually for clean up when done, and I'm considering an option to turn it from the seat.
I still need to add wings.
I did make a ballast box from a beer keg, estimated 170#.
Still amazed how well the turf tires work in snow.
