I decided to made a new 3pth blade. Had a local steel shop bend up a 7ft x 18in piece of 1/4 plate. ($100) My drawing showed a 90 degree bend but he did a 180 degree but it should work okay. I then welded a 4in piece of 1/4 wall plate to stiffen up the cutting edge. I made up some track shoes and some spacers to adjust the shoe. I will be taking blade up to camp next weekend and mating it to a 3pth scraper blade frame.

Nice looking blade Dave. I am getting ready to install a few skid shoes on the 7 foot blade I have.

There are lots of Canadians on here:thumbsup:

I drew up my own 3pt blade; my buddy owns a fab shop and a tractor. I designed it, he punched out two!:D

I can't imagine what I would do if I ever owned a 10ft 100 ton brake press. Probably crush a finger. Anyone in the Toronto area, The Steel Specialists on the corner of Midway and Columbus in Mississauga is pretty reasonable.

That's good thinkin.. make a bigger blade to use for the snow. Is the origional one still good for dirt work or are you just going to keep the new one on? New one's longer and taller?

The original blade was cut up to go on my Tracked Dumper project. I had bought a box blade for my MF135 last summer so did not think I needed the scraper. As I still had the 3pth hitch frame so I decided to see if I could make something better (with shoes and all) on the cheap for clearing snow. I spent 4 hours blowing a foot of snow a few weeks ago and when it went down to -30C with windchill, I could not help but thing I could do this in 20 mins with a blade. My now cut up scraper was only 6 foot and would not cover the rear tires on an angle. Also the massey has a loose chain stabilizing the lower links so it swings like 6 inches when plowing at an angle. With this progect, I now have a seven foot blade and I plan to offset it further when connecting to 3pth frame. This will give me both tire coverage and ability to swing it 180 on the short side. I will shoot some video this weekend.

I knew there was a reason my camp is 300 KM north of Toronto. I hate the big city. By the way we only have a dusting of snow so far this winter in the city and it will all be gone by Saturday with +9C (48F) on Saturday. Better be some snow up at camp to try the blade out.
