Re: Homier sales(north central ohio)

I looked at the finish mower when they were in town last month.
It is nearly identical to the King Kutter finish mower. Same
swinging hitch, same flaky yellow paint. The main difference I
could see was that the KK uses higher quality inflatable
tires while the Homier uses solid plastic mower type wheels. The
belt cover was also slightly different.
My guess is that KK buys the deck from the same OEM as
Farm Pro.

I live in the town (Huntington, IN) where the main Homier facility is located. The owner is an honest businessman and is well respected in this community. They do carry many major brands from American companies in their store as well as many refurbished items from American manufacturers and the obvious Chinese items that many have mentioned. Some of the Chinese items are of low quality and you get what you pay for, but many are excellent and will give good service. If you go past one of his locations in town, you will see hundreds of these tractors that have been assembled locally and they sell the by the truckload. I just wanted to tell you that the opinion in this town regards this businessman and being honest and fair in his business dealings and this is no small fly-by-night operation.

Re: Homier sales(north central ohio)

Gary, I see they will be in Millersburg one day next week also.

I drove into Akron yesterday to check out their sale. My guess was right-- they had a lot more at this sale than others I had attended in the past. There were about 10 tractors in several different combinations-- 20/25/30 hp, with/without turf tires, with/without front end loader, etc. They have 4 foot rough cut mowers for $299, 5 foot finish mowers for $599. They had box blades, tillers, and 7 foot dump wagon kits.

I wasn't feeling well (combination of the heat and bad chinese food the night before) and I didn't stay very long. I saw a lot of things I'd like to have, but would have to have the approval of the CFO first. The tractors are a good deal for their price, and even though not the greatest, they will run circles around my 60 year old 2N. I decided to wait until spring for a tractor though- I'm going to try to get a pole building up before winter so the 2N and 8N don't have to sit outside.

I did buy the 3 point forks for $39.99. We'll see how much weight I can carry on them...

Mark,
They had a full pallet of those dump trailers, but they were all still in the box and they didn't have any put together. In size and functionality, it seems similar to yours, but yours looks a little more heavy duty! I guess if you want something done right, you've got to do it yourself!

Andy:

I was upthere today too, I saw the boxes of traielrs and thought humm, lol anyhow I didn't see one set up. They seem to be set up with 4 wheels silmilar to a gravity wagon that is a bit different than mine yes. mine is single 6K axel with highway wheels on it. It is not a mobile home axel but rather similar it is actually called a utility axel and made from harder tubing... It gulled down our saw blade right quick cutting them too. It cuts standard steel like butter !!!

I bought a air hose and was hoping to get a 5' rotary cutter the 4 ' is a bit too small. It would work nicely on the 20 hp unit. they only had about 5 tractors left sunday afternoon. 2 18/20 hp 2 whl drives and 2 24hp 4 whl with loaders and a 30 with loader. a darn good bunch of stuff. didn't seem to have as much refurbished stuff though. mostly all imports. I almost got one of the 9 buck sawzaws just to try it out!!! left it though.

Had to revive this thread after the laugh I got today. I went to an auction of a closed equipment dealer. He had about 30 Olivers (some restored some not), but also had a few Farm Pro tractors and a 48" tiller. There were probably 3-400 people there and no one I heard talking had ever heard of Farm Pro. I have no idea what the tractors went for, but the 48" tiller, that probably retails for $699, went for.......... $850

I walked away laughing so hard I had to go find the Porta-Jon. The auctioneer really talked it up, like he should. Saying "where else ya gonna buy a tiller for $850".....???
