Honda Ridgeline

Have one, bought new in 2009. It gets 21mpg highway and 12-16mg city, down to 10mpg when towing at its capacity. Very luxurious inside if you get the full package, it maneuvers remarkably well for something so large. It is a little narrower than an F-150 and the (short) bed is a little higher so I needed 10ft motorbike ramps.

Seems like the same economy as a V8 1/2 ton.

Yes, that's the same thing I get with a 400 hp V8...I might actually do slightly better....My nephew has one, I'm not sure what the target audience is for a Ridgeline...Maybe the same as those who bought the Avalanche...Not an SUV and not a pickup..Guess if you haul 3x3 stuff all the time it could work...I'd just go with a 5.5ft quad cab 1/2 ton if it were me. Honda does make a good vehicle, I just don't understand this one...Kinda like a big Subaru Brat..Not an insult, just a 10,000 ft observation.

If you like the style but want more truck to tow with look at the Chevy avalanche. Great ride good milage on highway lots of room. I wanted a crew cab pick up. My wife looked at the avalanche next to it and TOLD me I was getting the avalanche. Do love it though.

I owned a 2007 Avy and can say that while it is a bit roomier and does tow better, the mileage isn't near as good. We never once touched the EPA ratings in ours. And I have always beat the ratings in every vehicle I've owned.

I have a 2010 milage has been good, did a trip Connecticut to Virginia last spring averaged 26MPG highway. Did the 07 have drop cylinders? That maybe the improvement. Also can't beat the comfort. It is a good ride.

26? Wow!!! I never got over 19. Ours had the 5.3 AFM engine.

They are just too heavy. Over 6k empty for ours. It had 3.73 gears. Apparently the 4.10 trucks do a bit better due to the fact they can stay in 4 cyl mode more.

But still only about 15 in town.

Yours has the six speed trans which certainly helps.

A co-worker has one. Mileage is a bit low for what it is. It seems like a lousy truck, but a great SUV. It's got a big trunk under the bed and has a nice flat floor interior. I have heard that putting a snow plow on these will cause them to bend.
