Honda Rubicon "overheating"

/ Honda Rubicon "overheating" #21
My 2005 Honda Rubicon runs fine when it is cold. When it gets warm it loses power. Sometimes the fan comes on and sometimes not, more often not. I think if the fan operated correctly it would not get warm. The radiator is not clogged, good antifreeze etc. I do not think any hoses collapse, all components are newer.
I have had this checked out more than once by trained Honda personnel. Could I just get a manual switch or have the fan run all the time? Normally no trouble in winter but trouble in the summer. Thanks

Using the fan all the time will be a drain on the batteryand stator so I dont recommend that. Alot of Rubicon owners dont realize but mud can still be lurking behind the radiator and in front of the fan and only way to really see it is by taking the fan out.. Is there any coolant coming out of the weeper hose? is the radiator cap holding pressure? Valve clearance is also very important, but alot of people forget about a clogged exhaust. Have you done any maintenance on the exhaust? You did not mention any mods like a needle kit, hi performance exhaust etc, wrong needle and exhaust combination can also make the engine overheat.

I bought this wrecked, rolled over and non running. The radiator and fins and fans I know are clean and no fluid loss out the overflow tube. I have not checked the muffler. I will. There was mud on the machine when I got it but not excessively so.
I will keep at it. I have more in it now than I like but would like to get it running correctly, hopefully not too far off.
