The bar that resides on the bottom of the rear axle (swinging draw bar?) has holes in it. It can extend out for additional turning radius.
I know that most farm trailers have the female end for connecting to the bar. Lawn tractors have a similiar connecter. I'd like to hook a chain to this bar for pulling stuck trucks, rocks and the like. How does everyone connect a chain to the lower/swinging drawbar? The holes are too small for a chain to go though.

Clevis and hitch pin.

Use a clevis through the draw bar hole and hook a chain to that.

I have a trailer hitch ball on mine for pulling a trailer. It also works great for wrapping a chain around. Use a grab hook and make a loop on the end of the chain.

As stated, a clevis is the answer. Any farm supply store will have them.

I keep one mounted on my drawbar, since I don't pull any implements from there, and one mounted on my grill guard, so when I load/haul the Bota, chains easily pass through the clevis, with one twist to keep them from sliding, for tie downs.

What I usually do to unload at a job site is slack the chains, then pull the pin, leaving the clevis (with the chain still through it and attached to the trailer) on the trailer.

When I load again, all I have to do pick up the clevis, drop the pin in the hole, and cinch the binders.

Hope this helps.

I have a big hook similar to the clevis JohnK posted. You can find them at most farm stores

I don't keep my drawbar in place, but I also have a clevis that I use with it when needed. However, the 'box' on the bottom of my tractor into which the drawbar slides has an edge that holds a 3/8" chain hook very nicely so I don't really need the drawbar or clevis if I have a chain with a hook on it.

Big ole' honkin' clevis for me too, the pin almost fills the hole.

I have one of each, depending on what I want to do and how much hooking and unhooking will be going on.

I wouldn't make a habit of pulling heavy loads with the chain hooked to the "box" the drawbar fits into. The chain hook puts a lot of load on a small area and you might bend some steel you'd rather have flat. When the bar is in there the load is spread out over a larger area through the bolts or pins.
