I've got the $70.00 version from HF. I had it on my 2N, and now I have it on my MF. My equip. isn't real big but I'm real old and it"s been a lifesaver.

You just back up until you can catch the top link pin with the hook on the hitch. Lift the empliment slightly, and the bottom pins slide right into the bottom latches. It takes a little adjusting the 1st time, but only once. Pic attached.

Danny....my adjustable ball ends are too short. To be able to use the pats quick hitch, I'd have to release the locks. Then they would not lock again until they ran out of adjustment/bottom out. That would put the ball ends and pats quick hitch around 8 inchs further back. My top link would not work then on most of my implements. Thats why I'd like to take the adjustable ball end off and machine a adjustable quick hitch and put it in place of the adjustable ball ends. My dealer told me to not use the ball ends all the way out using a ground engaugment implement like a plow. He said there is not enough area for support. And that they would bend. By the way, I'm about 1/2 inch short of being able to use the pats quick hitch in the lock position.

Thanks,
Cliff

LetsRoll; Unless I'm missing your point entirely, your concept is already utilized in Pat's Easy Change System.

As for Pat's System - I have it on my Massey 241... Works pretty good for standard size/built equipment (Cat I). For other equipment that's not standard, it's still can "hook-up" somewhat like a conventional ball and pin...

Only draw back I ran into was the extra length (about 4 inches), which extended my existing top link to the max... Finding an extra long top link wasn't all that easy and was relatively pricey when I did find one (Tractor Supply).. Further, I also bought/made/built a hydraulic toplink about that time... Finding a "stock" hydro top link with adequate extend length (approximately 34" needed) proved rather difficult. I finally acquired a Cat II and converted it - thus the "bought/made/built...

Still, as for the Easy Change System - - - It's still on my tractor and I plan for it to stay - works pretty well for me...

regards all

If you don't have extend able links or a quick hitch, Back up as center as you can get and always connect the lower pin first. Then you can raise the implement to get it level for the other pin. If level then connect the the closet pin and move forward or aft. to connect the other pin.

I've put all my implements on castors or on pieces of wood that allow easy sliding from side to side. I've put 3 implements on and off in about 15 minutes in moving stuff around. Used to, the PTO engagement was tough. Now, it seems to slide right on. Gets easier with time.

All I have is a back blade and a KK bush hog but I was surprised at how easy it was to hook them up. I looked at quick hitches and wondered why I would need them...

Soundguy has the answer... "experience". The more expensive way is by adding more tractors.

Yep, "experience" that and a 5' long prybar! about $35-45 at the farm store.

My cutter is a bear. The 3pt arms have to swing out to get the ball on the pins and with the arc they travel, when swung out on one side, the other CAN'T be aligned without moving it. The cutter has to move a couple inches forward or back. The big pry bar does it pretty quick and easy.

It's also easiest for me to hook up the fixed side of the 3pt first, then the adjustable side (cranking it to get verticle alignment), the the top link. Last is the PTO.

If you have a Harbor Freight nearby, check out the quick hitch. The only downside is that your attachments need to be standard. If not, some modifications may be required.

With a quick hitch it's possible to hook up the implement without leaving the tractor seat.

Soundguy hit it home.........practice makes perfect. A prybar as well as steel toed boots come in handy too.
