I've got the $70.00 version from HF. I had it on my 2N, and now I have it on my MF. My equip. isn't real big but I'm real old and it"s been a lifesaver.

You just back up until you can catch the top link pin with the hook on the hitch. Lift the empliment slightly, and the bottom pins slide right into the bottom latches. It takes a little adjusting the 1st time, but only once. Pic attached.
You got that from HF for $70? Good price. How many HP is your tractor? I really don't know if it would be stout enough for my 42 HP. I managed to nearly destroy my boxblade. I was used to my little 28 HP Ford 2000. While scraping out a bar ditch in 4WD with the, then brand new, Mahindra the BB snagged a big rock. The tractor didn't even grunt. When I finished my pass I saw what I had done to the BB. My little old Ford would have stalled out.
I learned a costly lesson on that one. I still use the BB, but it sure looks funny.

I've tried one of those cheap Harbor Freight quick hitches and found that it was great for skidding logs with log tongs because you can drop the 3-point hitch lower, but I had no success using it with implements because of manufacturing irregularities.

When connecting heavy implements to your 3-point hitch the old-fashioned way, I've found that a 60-inch, high-carbon steel, wedge-point crow bar does the trick. Here's a source if you are not near a supply house.

The trouble with wooden 2X4's as pry bars is they eventually rot and break.

Lets be fair when quoting hp numbers.. If you are going to quote the lowest tested hp, please at least qualify what number you are going to post.. I.E. drawbar hp, in this case.

Ford 2000, 1962-1975

62-64 could have a 4cyl gas or 4 cyl diesel, (134ci red tiger gas).. or 144ci diesel.

After that it was a 3cyl.. 2.6l

36 is closer to the eng hp... depending on engine. The 4cyl gasser was the weakest.. so the 4cyl diesel and the 3 cyl will perform slightly better.

31-33 on the pto

28, is the drawbar hp.

Experience helps, but the older you get the more you need help. When I moved from home my father sold our old Massey and I didn't understand why. Now I do, and extra pair of hands is helpful when muscling around a 500 lb implement.

I have the Pats system and can't say enough good about it. Since I don't change implements a lot I don't get the experience to do it quickly. Pats makes it easy for me.

After reading some of these, I unhooked my BB, went down and connected and lifted my Mac chipper/shredder. Repaired its dolly, made out of waste lumber and plywood, so it wouldn't sag: added a couple castors in the middle, six total now. Then put the Mac back on the dolly and then connected my soil ripper/disc hiller combo. Brought up an old pallet that Lowes never picked up and put 4 heavy duty metal castors underneath its corners. Sat the ripper down on it and went back up and backed up to the BB. Too pooped (had washed car earlier) to reconnect it today.

I built a dolly out of 2x4's and 4 casters for my brush hog. I can easily roll it into position (I keep it in the garage).

I'm with Ralph and Greg, everything is on wheels, since the barn has a good cement floor. Harbor keeps putting the swivel casters on sale, I use them on every corner. I bought 4 ahead in case I can pick up a good tiller this year . My frame is usually an angle iron bedframe or 2 somebody threw out - cut to size and welded solid. Sure makes reorganizing and cleaning the barn easier too. Normally you can easily manuver the implement to get the bottom arms on and use them to lift the implement to gain angle so the top link lines right up ( I have pretty much dedicated pre-adjusted top links for each piece). Practice makes perfect, I had 7 changes one day last summer for all the tasks I was up to before beerthirty.

HELLO TO ALL,
there is one called a FREEDOM HITCH. only problem it is
very pricey! they sent me a video of this rig, and i would
like to have one, but cannot justify the cost. you do not
have to get off the tractor, unless you have the PTO to
hookup, or unhook. but all of the implements must have
the mating part.

Do you have a source for the freedom hitch parts? Several of my buddies have them and we are 1 tractor side and about 4 implement sides short. we just rotate the parts to what we need seaonaly, but it would be nice to get a complete set. if you use this hitch with a hyd top link you will be hitched in less time then you can say hitched.
