I think it's very cool looking like RW said, You want talk scary bee stuff, have you ever seen a swarm in the air, went to a buddies house and when I got out of my truck I heard a weird noise I didn't recognize, I walked around the corner of his house and there it was, a dark swarm of bees about 4' in dia moving around slowly between a tree and the roof of his house. My truck was about 150' away, I ran like my life was on the line as I figured if that many bees get you there wouldn't be much hope of survival.
I'm pretty comfortable around bees, being a contractor working on old buildings, I run into them very often, for the most part they do not go out of their way to bother you in my experience. always keep spray on the truck but rarely need it.
The one exception is ground bees, those things are down right nasty and will go out of their way to sting you every time, I have no tolerance for them and will flame them out when I find them.
worst bee sting was in the ear lobe, felt like I got punched by Mike Tyson, ear looked like a pork chop.

I got home from a trip to TN this weekend and checked on the nest which is closed up in my basement shop. Imagine my suprise when I found 10 dead hornets on the floor under it. I am sure glad I was out of town, SHMBO would have not been happy if she would have met them then they were buzzing around.
