I'm going to make a guess that you're making a set of long hoses to run a 3rd function from your rear remote - therefore you're going to have some sort of Quick Disconnect on each end - and typically they all have NPT Female threads.

I'm with Rustyiron here - use JIC Male to NPT Male 90 deg elbows and put them into the QD's and L Bracket. Then put straight JIC Female ends on your hoses. Then you have zero alignment / twisting issues because of the hose routing.

If you can give a bit more detail on what you're trying to do and/or share pictures; I'm sure some of the guys here can get you squared away right down to the part number.

Yes, that is my plan, with 1/2" ag couplers on rear remotes and 1/2" HT flat face at loader. thanks.

So are all JIC straight hose fittings considered "swivel"? Like this: (I don't see anything else listed on their website) FJX-06-08 | 3/8" Hose x 1/2" JIC Female Swivel

Yes - by it's design the JIC female end always has a "swivel" built into it (I promise it will make much more sense once you have them in hand).

So I would use these on both hose ends with the 1/2 JIC to 1/2 NPTF non-swivel 90 like this: FJX-06-08 | 3/8" Hose x 1/2" JIC Female Swivel ?

Link went back to the same hose end instead of the adapter but I knew what you meant and yes you can use that just fine.

Also you can use 3/8" fittings since you're using 3/8" hose and then just change size in the adapter itself like this.
2501-06-08 | 3/8" JIC Male x 1/2" NPTF Male Pipe 90

At that point I'm getting really picky and it's probably a matter of penny's either way cost wise (I'm just OCD like that) so which ever makes more sense to you - it will work the same either way.

Here's a link to the new revised write-up I did on our 3rd function project - if you look at page 15 in the right hand picture, That is pretty much the same thing except I'm going from JIC to Metric in the loader valve instead of NPT.

I have worked for several OEMs and they always specify at least one end with a straight fitting unless absolutely necessary. As others have mentioned - unless they are made perfect the hose won't lay right. We also avoid pipe thread wherever possible. Very difficult to guarantee these to be leak free plus the hassle of using thread sealant.

One thing that wasn't mentioned was restriction. If this is on a low flow application like a FEL not a big deal, and often packaging matters more, but with high flow applications a 90° on a hose has much lower restriction than most 90° fittings which just have two intersecting drilled passages.
