Hose Reel

Hi,
I'm looking for one of those hose reels on wheels. I owned one of the light duty plastic ones a few years ago, but it didn't hold up. I've seen a few of the so called commercial ones for sale on line at places like Tractor Supply and Northern Tools. Prices vary from about $80 to $150.

Regardless of the price, the reviews consistently say two things.
1 - The assembly instructions stink and it was hard to put together.
2 - The quality sucks and they all leak.

Well, I can deal with poor instructions... but I don't want a low quality leaky reel.

My requirements are simple: 300' to 400' hose capacity. Wheels to get it around the yard. Good quality for residential use.

Has anyone had experience with hose reels?
Any brands to recommend or warn me away from?

I bought one at Sam's 4 years ago but it only holds 250' of heavy duty hose. It has not leaked but I did have to replace the cheap short piece of hose that connects to the faucet. It was not that hard to put together either.

I got the 400 ft reel from northern tool so far it's working ok, mainly for the no flat tires my old one from tractor supply the tubes rotted and it was rusted bad this one is powder coated no leaks so far warranted for 7 years for what that's worth !

This one looks good if it's got flat proof tires. I have one similar that has a tongue and steerable wheels, tires were junk, powder coat peeling and rusting and the joints leak, not happy with it at all, but it's not identical to the NT carts.

Garden Hose Reels, Garden Hoses & Watering Tools – Eley Hose Reels This company makes good, albeit expensive, hose reels. They are expandable, but I'm not sure if you can get the capacity up to 300-400 feet.

Not cheap, but if you want truly well thought-out, well made (in the USA by an American company), and very durable look at Eley. I never knew I could be so incredibly impressed with a hose reel. Even the shipping packaging has perfect and ****-retentive execution.

I bought one because I was sick of the cheap Chinese junk corroding away after a year. And no I don't have any connection to the company.
