John Deere x 530
I have a six year old John Deere x530 that will shut down after mowing for 30 or so minutes. It only seems to do it in hot humid weather. When it does shut down and engine stops completely it will backfire after about 1 second. After sitting for 10 or 15 minutes it will start again. Never have problems in cooler weather. Any ideas?

It is possible the cap on your fuel tank isn't venting properly. Next time it stalls you can try removing and replacing the cap and see if it will restart without the wait. You could also check the cap for blockage to see if there's an air path through it.

Sounds like vapor lock. A new fuel pump could be a solution, at least it solved my issue with the same symptoms.

If you find an answer please post it here. Mine is doing that issue this year.

One test you could do: right when it stalls, pull a spark plug out, and plug it back into the plug wire. Crank engine - is there a spark?
