Hot!

Near record heat here this week. 115 here today, almost broke a record. Supposed to be near record temps all week. Normal highs this time of year should be around 108. BUT, ITS A DRY HEAT!!!!

A dry heat IS different than a humid one. Nevertheless, 115F is very hot!
Friday it was 95 with around 5% humidity. It was so dry that the needle was pointing at the "D" for dry.
It was hot but when you rested, it was comfortable in camp. Saturday it was around the same temp with 40% and everyone at camp got sticky, sweaty and uncomfortable. We are still not at our high temp season which is coming up in July.

5% 40% humidity:eek: I wish! Try a typical summer in SC where it can be 90-100 deg with 80-99% humidity...talk about sticky:cool:

We got a break from the heat this week. I actually opened the windows last night since even the humidity was low. It was cool this morning getting into the truck. The daughter had me turn on the heat! :D

Going to be in the low to mid 80s for a few days. Gots to like it.

Dan

Yep, Dan, we got a slight break yesterday, too, when that front came through with 60 to 70 mph winds and a little rain. I got less than .2" of rain, but I guess we were lucky. I've seen in the news where a few thousand homes were without electricity as a result of the high winds.

And then for the bad news today. I got my electric bill; almost doubled this time from the last one.:( At least our air-conditioner is doing its job.

Nice here today. High 80's but the humidity is very low. We need rain bad but low humidity and 80's sure feels nice.

Yeah, we need rain, too. I mowed, fertilized, and watered the yard this morning. It's a shame some of us are needing rain when the midwest is under water.

Isn't that the truth? We have gotten about five droplets of rain this month and the lawn is showing it. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind not having to mow it and I'm sure not going to be watering it! The Jackson news station says we have gotten 1 inch of rain to date this month. I don't believe them.

Temps and humidity are rising but at least its just normal not like the super hot oven that we had a few weeks back. The last rain we had was a week or so ago and it was a 1/10 of an inch! Woo Hoo! Not.

The lakes are starting to drop again.

Last night it was cool enough to open the windows and turn off the AC. Early this morning the thunderstorms rolled in and gave us 3/5s of an inche! That is a Woo Hoo! :D Almost watered the garden last night! :) I don't think the storms were wide spread but they at least helped the garden.

Supposed to have more heat and humidity as well as some rain the next couple of days. Just normal summer weather.

Later,
Dan

We just got a little downpour here and it cooled things off a bit. Tomorrow they are calling for a high of 83! That's below normal highs! I'm going to a little local antique tractor show and to my daughter's horse show nearby too so I'll enjoy this little break in the heat.
