I finished all the exterior rock yesterday. I still have to rock the fireplace and I'm not sure if I have enough or how much I'll be short. It should be pretty quick once I get the mantel installed. Next step is to fill in around the rocks with mortar.

Eddie, that rock sure does pull it all into the country theme, great job. I have no envy for the hours of work that rock took:laughing: That Cedar Log a few pages back is the mantel right?

Yes, the cedar log is going to be the mantel. I have a stack of them that I went through to find one that I felt had a lot of character to it and didn't taper too much. It has to be 65 inches wide, so to look nice, I felt it also needed to carry it's thickness all the way through. That became a bit of a challenge, but once I found the right log, it's all good!!!

Heck of a mantel with great color. going to take some serious anchoring to the wall!! Or is it supported by side post? A couple of like tables would look nice with that mantel too, with its size, it will work great pulling other cedar furniture into the whole picture.
