Re: How痴 Eddie?

So far I have it beat by 1 month.

That's funny . . . I'm in the same boat Ron. So we have 4 months to live by the average.

Re: How痴 Eddie?

My mother is 83 and won't even call her doctor about getting the vaccine; she's waiting for her annual appointment sometime this month, and will talk to him then. :banghead:

Most Doctor’s offices here are spending all their time on Covid calls without any special knowledge to pass on...

Maybe different with Johnson vaccine as no extreme refrigeration needed and one injection and done

Looks like the East is getting a little leftovers our little squall the other day. We went from bare ground to 42" of snow in 24 hours. Took a few days to plow the 1 mile long private driveway. Thank God for tractors!

Thread has drifted more than the snow.

You are right! How the he77 this ended up here is beyond me. It was meant for the good morning thread where it will be shortly. Hope Eddie and Wife are doing well, this virus sucks big time. Sorry for "drifting here".

I really appreciate hearing from others who have had Covid and what it was like for them. From talking to friends and clients, it seems to be different for everyone to some degree.

Before I got sick, I had built a cedar gate for one of my clients. She showed me a magazine picture of one that she liked, and instead of opening in it, she wanted me to insert a family heirloom. Her husbands family used to own an old movie theater and the ends of the seats, along the isle, had these very fancy cast iron seat ends. They where in bad shape, so I picked the best one and cleaned it up, then cut it to fit. She wanted to use an antique door knob, but it was missing parts, so for now, it will just be held closed with a wedge under it.

The gate has been sitting in my shop shop for 3 months. Not just because of Covid, but I had a full schedule of jobs to do, and I didn't finish two of them before getting sick, and I finished the last one on Wednesday.

My fear was that I would over do it pulling the post out for the gate. I used a jack and I broke off a lot of the concrete with my SDS Max rotary hammer, but it was still the most physical thing that I've done since getting sick. The real issues with my breathing came from manhandling the gate into position to install the hinges. Fortunately, I was able to get it done and my clients are happy. I did take a few breaks when I started to breath heavy. That's my clue!!!

Next week I start a big project, so I'm feeling good that I'm ready for it.

My wife said this morning that she can't remember the last time that she felt this good and had so much energy. It's really night and day how much easier Covid was for her compared to me. And I think I had a mild case of it compared to everyone that had to go to the hospital. Considering her medical history, and all she went through with Colon Cancer 3 years ago, we both think it's the Hydroxychloroquine that made her symptoms so much milder then what I had.

Think of the Texas Walkers often... especially with Texas being a popular destination for friends and neighbors...

Eddie... you were just ahead of your time!

From what I see you are spot on regarding Covid... my 19 year old niece didn't even know she had it until tested after others in the dorm came down with it... dodged a bullet on that one being far from home... they are now tested weekly through the University Athletic Department.

What Grandma always said regarding hand washing, cleaning etc... now makes perfect sense because she and those her age survived the 1918 pandemic...

My next door neighbor is on home hospice... not Covid so she is receiving visitors... first it was the 1918 she lived through and now the 2019 pandemic...

With my wife working at the University, and so many students and faculty having come down with Covid, it's extremely rare for anybody to get any medicine to treat it unless you get pneumonia and you are hospitalized. From what I understand, the vast majority of people that have it are told to just wait it out.

We are definitely getting a lot of Californians moving here. It's good for the economy here, but horrible for how congested our roads have become.

Right now, a good friend, who is easily one of the very top Akita show people in the world, is in Tennessee looking for a place to move to from California. Hearing what they pay to live there in taxes and electracy, in Gilroy, is just crazy!!! Then they have to deal with fires and evacuations the last two years, along with the power being turned off all the time, is even crazier!!! Two other Akita show friends have recently moved to the Nashville area already. I'm starting to wonder what's going in in Tennessee?
