How about a chain harrow to smooth lawn?

Plug cutter aerates the lawn. Dont think it will have much of smoothing effect. With spring and rain, a nice heavy lawn roller should help. If you have a lawn that is already really packed, you're only option maybe to redo it in the fall.

You might be amazed at what a good aerating will do. Since the lawn is relatively flat already and aerating is good for the grass this may be your solution.

Use the plug-type equipment and heavily aerate the high spots. Drag or rake the plugs to the low spots.

As you drive over the lawn the tractor wheels will squish the soil into the holes and the overall effect will be to flatten the bumps. A very heavy lawn roller also works if the soil is wet.

Repeat once a month until the lawn is like you want.

This procedure is done at least once a year on golf greens and it works quite well to keep them from having "buried elephants".

I would agree with this, aerate the heck out of the high spots then put the water to it. Then roll it.

If you want something to take over your lawn, maybe look for a old set of feeder chains off a combine. They are about 4' wide and 8' long sections. They dont tear up grass and they work great on driveways for smothing them out. I got mine for free from local scrap yard. i mounted mine to a 3pt hitch and i also made a double set for my drive way. In the end, it cost me about 50 bucks worth of material and such.

I cant see why not, I use them in the spring to kind of stir up the gravel out of my lawn from winter plowing. They work pretty good for that. Now im not sure what you meen by seedbed, but im guessing its like a seed plot and i cant see why i would not work for that. The thing with these is that they kind of work like a grader blade, they pull all of the loose stuff along with it to fill in the low/uneven spots as you go. Ill try to get a picture this week of mine for you. then you can see what im talking about.
