How about if WE create a training tape?

MossRoad: Why don't we come up with the concept of what we want first, then we can determine how much space it might take up

Without video's, the WikiWiki concept I'm using for my 1845 stuff, better organized, /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif could provide a way for us all to contribute proceedures, pictures, parts lists, etc to a common resource without taking up too much space. A WikiWiki has the advantage of being easily editable by anybody, anytime. WikiWikis work well for me. I'm running half a dozen for different purposes, one of the most successful is a private one I share project notes with a client on, where we both constantly update the pages to reflect our current and everchanging thoughts.

Sounds like a good starting place. If it is organized similar to your website, it looks good to me! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Please explain more.

Let me send you back to my site and this page within "WikiHelp" at the bottom of the page. I'm not sure what your questions are but maybe that's a good place to start - with an explanation of the WikiWiki concept.

It looks like I might have enough server space to host another WikiWiki, at least for a while. Perhaps I could set up another one or even rejigger mine to include all PTs.

well since im the new proud dad of a new green bouncing baby 425 im all for the idea of the videos and or more indepth disscusions on the issues we all may or may not face and the training at tazewell while not very detailed i do consider better than still photos which for the ones who have not been able to or not yet had it would help them alot such as the way to release the wheel motors to roll the unit when dead for what ever reason or how the articulating joint can be fixed ive yet to really get and quality seat time one mine yet but im sure with time and work alot of issues will naturally follow that wasnt part of the training at tazewell but will proabaley come from you veteran owners here and from terry who i hope will be around a long long time as he seemed to be the only one that really understood the machines to me personally at pt but hopefully there are others there,......... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I posted this on the thread "pt and the law". I'm re-posting here to see if anyone besides sedgewood has an opinion. Ken in Mississippi

Here's the post:
Here's a not too original thought. Consider something like the Chinese Tractor Owners Association (CTOA. You can find it at http://www.homestead.com/ctoa/). Perhaps create a site (run by Mossroad + whoever?!) where our information and knowledge can be systematically archived. I've seen special interest sites with faqs for newbies, general info etc. An awful lot of collective knowledge exists among pt owners. Maybe now is the time to organize ourselves. A potential positive benefit might be to get a more cooperative attitude at Power Trac, Inc. (What I think is really needed is a little competition from another company. But that's another issue.)
